It’s not just the parents of Muslim soldiers who support Hillary Clinton – she’s a hit with the parents of terrorists as well. Isn’t it nice to finally have a candidate who can unite the country?
Seddique Mateen, the father of Omar Mateen, was spotted at a Hillary rally in Kissimmee, FL this week, and he told reporters that he was an unabashed supporter of the Democratic nominee.
“It’s a Democratic Party so everybody can enjoy,” Mateen said. “Why should they be surprised? I love the United States.”
Mateen even brought a sign with him to the event which praised Clinton as being the correct choice on national security and for having the right attitude towards “gun control laws.”
Which is just too rich.
“Hillary Clinton is good for United States versus Donald Trump, who has no solutions,” said Mateen.
We’ll see if Hillary can squeeze that onto a bumper sticker.
Everyone can judge for themselves the degree to which the parents of terrorists can be blamed for the actions of their children, but there are questions surrounding Seddique Mateen that have not been fully explored by the media. Shortly after the killings, several conservative news sites delved into the elder Mateen’s past. There, they found his bizarre, public support for the Taliban in Afghanistan on his personal YouTube channel. In one video, Mateen dressed up in a military uniform and began issuing “orders” as though he were the president of Afghanistan; in it, he called for several top officials in the Afgahni government to be imprisoned.
Mateen has consistently said that his son was not motivated by Islam, though he has said in the past that “God will punish those involved in homosexuality.”
Yeah, he sent them Hillary Clinton.
There’s no reason to make this story out to be more than it is, but it’s only fair to bring it up considering the endless coverage afforded to Khizr Khan. We can’t judge Hillary based on who attends her rallies, right?
No one would argue otherwise, yet that’s exactly what the media has been doing to Trump for the last year. Every violent, vile supporter they can fine (scant handfuls out of millions) comes to represent the entire Trump movement. Every questionable character who speaks favorably of Trump becomes an indictment of the man himself.
So, if those are the rules, then let’s apply them evenly.
