After Exoneration, Elizabeth Warren Calls for Trump’s Impeachment

Democrats are proving that their actions and rhetoric have very little relationship to reality. After saying for months that “we have to wait for Mueller” when asked if they would bring impeachment proceedings against President Trump, they are now using his complete exoneration to call for those same proceedings. It is now apparent and obvious that it never mattered in the slightest what Robert Mueller returned in his report. Democrats were always planning to use this investigation as a means to an end.

In a series of tweets sent out on Friday, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, presidential candidate and fake Indian, said that Mueller’s findings that Trump did not in fact collude with the Russians were reason enough for the House of Representatives to impeach him.

“The Mueller Report lays out facts showing that a hostile foreign government attacked our 2016 election to help Donald Trump and Donald Trump welcomed that help,” Warren wrote. “Once elected, Donald Trump obstructed the investigation into that attack.”

The first part is somewhat true, but this was not only publicly known before the Mueller report, it was known before the election. The second part, what can we say other than that Mueller actually comes to the opposite conclusion? Warren must be as bad at reading reports as she is at researching her family’s genealogy.

“Mueller put the next step in the hands of Congress: ‘Congress has authority to prohibit a President’s corrupt use of his authority in order to protect the integrity of the administration of justice,’” Warren said. “The correct process for exercising that authority is impeachment.”

So here’s what Warren wants: A system where the powerful State can drum up any old phony charges against a sitting president, “investigate” those phony charges until the cows come home, and then penalize the president for taking any action – even rhetorical in nature, as all of Trump’s was. Sit there and take it, you Republican monster! Yes, we know it’s a witch hunt. We know it’s a fake, partisan attempt to throw you out of office. We know it and you know it. But if you so much as bat an eyelash, we’ll throw you out of office for THAT crime.

We can’t run a country with that kind of innocent-until-we-force-you-to-be-guilty system. It’s absurd.

But frankly, we would love nothing more than to see Democrats take Warren’s advice to heart. Nothing would ensure Trump’s re-election faster than a Senate acquittal on the eve of the general election. You’d think after the humiliation of the Mueller report itself, Democrats would be eager to change the subject. Apparently they are gluttons for punishment.
