Bernie Sanders ERUPTS Over Simple Request!

(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Senator Bernie Sanders criticized presidential hopeful Nikki Haley on Sunday for saying that it should be mandatory for lawmakers over the age of 75 to pass a “competency test.”

Haley, the former governor of South Carolina and former United Nations ambassador during the Trump administration, announced a week ago that she would be running for president in 2024. Haley had long been anticipated to join the presidential race, and so far she is the only major Republican to have challenged former President Donald Trump for the GOP primary.

In the one week since Haley announced her presidential campaign, she has appeared unwilling to discuss what separates her from Trump. However, she has based her campaign on the need for new leadership. This comes at a time when both Trump, 76, and President Joe Biden, 80, have been discussed in relation to their age and the effects it might have on their abilities to lead the country. Haley suggested that lawmakers over the age of 75 should be required to complete mental competency tests.

Sanders,81, during an appearance on CBS News’s Face the Nation on Sunday, was asked by host Margaret Brennan about his opinion on this suggestion. Sanders was quick to dismiss the idea and called it “absurd.”

Sanders said that people are fighting against racism, sexism, and homophobia and clearly they “should also be fighting ageism.” He added that competence has nothing to do with age and that it should always be examined on a personal basis.
