Cher Has a Sudden Awakening on the Subject of Illegal Immigration

We’re sure it will only be a matter of hours before Cher returns to her part-time hobby of writing barely-literate screeds against President Trump on Twitter, but for a moment on Sunday the famous songstress appeared to have a minor awakening on the subject of illegal immigration. Apparently even for die-hard liberals who would rather burn the country down than vote Republican, the truth creeps through the bubble every now and again. How can’t it, when the facts are right in front of your face?

“I understanding helping struggling immigrants,” she tweeted. “But MY CITY (Los Angeles) ISNT TAKING CARE OF ITS OWN. WHAT ABOUT THE 50,000+Citizens WHO LIVE ON THE STREETS. PPL WHO LIVE BELOW POVERTY LINE, & HUNGRY? If My State Can’t Take Care of Its Own (Many Are VETS) How Can it Take Care Of More?”

You may not believe this, but we actually cleaned up that tweet a little just to improve its coherence. Frankly, as far as Cher tweets are concerned, this one was not as bad as most. Apparently she put down the pills for an afternoon and had something close to a revelation – in other words, reality slapped her in the face. We love it when that happens.

The reaction from conservatives on Twitter was classic.

“Wow,” tweeted Ben Shapiro. “Trump made Cher into a Republican.”

“I’ll never forget where I was and what I was doing the moment Cher became a Republican,” wrote Michael Knowles.

“I guess the leftists are only pro illegals when they can lay the huge burden on someone else,” mused Donald Trump Jr.

Once again, the president’s son hits the nail on the head.

Because no, Cher did not actually have an awakening. She did not suddenly become a Republican. She forgot for a moment that she’s supposed to be for illegal immigration, that’s all. And the reason she forgot is that Trump is threatening to send swarms of them to places like Los Angeles and San Francisco – sanctuary cities that have laws on the books making it very, very difficult for the feds to deport aliens. She saw this tweet as just another “Trump is bad” message to the world, pleading for some sympathy for poor old Los Angeles.

Well, Los Angeles needs to save itself. We remain mystified at all the outrage and handwringing over Trump’s sensible plan to send asylum-seekers to cities where they have ostensibly opened their doors to illegals. Why would you be outraged – this is what you said you wanted. You said it with your laws, you said it with your lawsuits against the Trump administration, and you’ve said it with your attempts to make it impossible to build a wall. But now, what? You’re getting cold feet? You thought all of these illegal aliens were going to wind up in some backwoods Kentucky town where you wouldn’t have to think about them again?
