CIA Colluded With Foreign Intelligence to Beat Trump
The latest reporting from the UK’s Guardian newspaper confirms what Trump supporters have suspected for a long time: The CIA, under the explicit direction of Director John Brennan, worked with foreign spy agencies to interfere with the 2016 election.
After all the talk of Trump’s collusion with the Russians, it’s getting clearer by the day that there was indeed foreign collusion dirtying the race – It was the Obama administration colluding against the Republican candidate.
Brennan resigned his post when Trump won, but we imagine he was hoping to stick around for the Hillary Clinton administration. Maybe, in fact, he was primarily concerned about his own career prospects when he decided to go after the Trump campaign. Perhaps that’s why he colluded with the British – and the Estonians – to undermine Trump’s candidacy. Maybe that’s why he used flimsy crap like the infamous “dossier” to get warrants to go after people like Carter Page.
Remember: For as much “smoke” as we’ve seen connecting Page, Paul Manafort, and others to Russian spies, we’ve yet to see even a SINGLE PIECE OF CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE. So we are left to assume that, had an actual traitor ascended to the White House, the only thing our intelligence community, criminal justice system, and – ultimately – our federal government could do about it is what they’re doing now: Leak tidbits of info to the media in an attempt to sway public opinion.
Boy, that would be a really scary reality to confront, if it was even slightly plausible. Thankfully, it isn’t.
Still, we’re left with a reality that is only a little less frightening. It’s the reality that the Obama administration flagrantly betrayed the public trust by using the intelligence agencies as a political weapon. Whether this was done with the knowledge and approval of the president, we do not yet know. Hopefully, that question will soon be answered.
But we already know that people like Brennan and former National Security Adviser Susan Rice were in on the game. We don’t know who was genuinely snookered and who was intentionally deceptive, but it will all come out in the wash eventually.
The Baltic nations and Britain are, of course, our allies. But still, their motivations are obvious. Trump freaked them out with his talk of withdrawing from NATO. These countries are also desperate to stop the populist momentum that led to Brexit and may also lead to the election of Marine Le Pen in France. They watched how Trump talked about Vladimir Putin and they panicked. We’re now watching that panic turn into another kind of fear – the fear of being called out for their deception.
