Democrats Are Banning THIS in the Name of Climate Change!?
(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – The Biden administration’s energy efficiency and climate agenda has now set its sights on banning all commonly used light bulbs in a new ban.
The new regulations would prohibit the sale of incandescent light bulbs. The regulation was first finalized by the Department of Energy (DOE) in April 2022 and is set to go into effect on Aug. 1, 2023, after which point retailers will be forced to comply with the ban. Many retailers have already started the transition away from this type of light bulb and have even started issuing some warning notices to companies.
Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm pointed out that the lighting industry has been moving towards more energy-efficient products, and with this measure, they are going to accelerate their efforts. According to the DOE announcement, this regulation would reduce carbon emissions by 222 million metric tons within the next three decades while also saving around $billion per year on utility bills for consumers.
Following the change in regulations, incandescent and similar halogen light bulbs will not be allowed, and instead, consumers will need to switch to light-emitting diode or LED alternatives. An increase in the number of households that have switched to LED in the U.S. took place after 2015, but the number of houses that mostly or exclusively use LED has been reported to be fewer than half of the households, according to the Residential Energy Consumption Survey. In fact, 47 percent use mostly or exclusively LED, while 15 percent use mostly incandescent or halogen lights, and 12 percent use mostly or all compact fluorescent (CFL).
