Democrats Pass NEW LAW – Guns Are The Target!

(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – In Washington state, lawmakers have passed a bill banning the sale, manufacture, and import of assault weapons in the state.

Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson revealed in the press release on Saturday that the bill had been approved by both chambers. Bill H.B. 1240 was pushed through both the House and the Senate by the state’s Democrats. He further noted that the Senate focused on “public safety” over “the interests of the gun lobby.”

He continued by stating that the effects of mass shootings extend “beyond the casualties and injuries.” “Mass shootings traumatize entire communities.”

The assault weapon ban passed the Senate in a 27-21 vote. However, as there was an amendment to the bill, it will now need to head back to the House. Following the approval of the House, the bill will go to Washington’s Democratic Governor, Jay Inslee, who is widely expected to sign it.

Following the vote, Inslee took to Twitter to thank the Democrats who passed the legislation. The amendment that the Senate made would allow gun makers to sell the inventory they have had available since before January 1, 2023, to out-of-state buyers for 90 days following the bill’s going into effect.

Once the bill passes and is signed into law, Washington will join nine other states with similar firearm bans. This ban will not stop Washington state residents from possessing assault weapons, and there will be exceptions in place for inherited weapons and law enforcement officers.
