DeSantis WON’T Attend This GOP Event!
(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) will not attend the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), this year.
DeSantis is currently considered one of the major Republican presidential hopefuls for 2024. However, instead of attending the CPAC, the Florida governor is choosing to proceed with his book tour across Florida, as well as attending GOP dinners in Texas and attending the Club for Growth’s annual donor retreat.
DeSantis was not listed as one of the CPAC’s speakers this year. The CPAC is an annual gathering that takes place outside of Washington, D.C. on Wednesday. Many Republicans had previously expressed that they would like to see DeSantis attend the event as he is widely expected to place a bid for the White House in 2024.
Both former President Donald Trump and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley are going to be speaking during the CPAC. The two are the only two prominent Republicans to have announced their presidential bid so far. Other contenders include former Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.
While DeSantis has not said whether or not he would be placing a bid for the White House, during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” last week, DeSantis said that he would not be making a decision regarding a presidential bid until after the end of the Florida state legislature. As he noted for now he is focused on his book tour, and spreading his message across Florida before the Legislative Session starts.
