Don Lemon “Didn’t Catch” That He Was Laughing at Trump Supporters

In an apparent admission that he is indeed “the dumbest man on television,” CNN’s Don Lemon took time out of his program on Tuesday night to offer a baffling explanation of why he’d laughed himself to tears a few days earlier while his guests mocked Trump supporters as illiterate hillbillies.

“And one final note that I have for you, because this is personally important to me to address this, OK?” Lemon said, using his Very Serious Quiet Voice. “Anyone, ask anyone who knows me, they’ll tell you, I don’t believe in belittling people, belittling anyone for who they are, what they believe, or where they are from.

“During an interview on Saturday night, one of my guests said something that made me laugh and while in the moment, I found that joke humorous,” he continued. “And I didn’t catch everything that was said. Just to make this perfectly clear, I was laughing at the joke and not at any group of people.”

Of course, the “joke” that Lemon was laughing at was Rick Wilson’s characterization of Trump supporters as redneck morons who find concepts like “maps” and “geography” the exclusive province of liberal elitists.

Now to give him the biggest benefit of the doubt possible, perhaps Lemon was referring to Wilson’s opening salvo, in which he said President Trump couldn’t find Ukraine on a map even if someone drew a “U” and an “actual physical picture of a crane” on the country. But the “comedy” routine between Wilson and the other guest, Wajahat Ali, goes on for nearly a minute, and Lemon’s hysterical laughing fit keeps growing throughout the bit. So, either Lemon is such a dull-witted imbecile that a joke as lame as Wilson’s first one was enough to send him into raptures of laughter OR he’s too unprofessional to keep tabs on his own program for more than a minute of airtime OR he’s just straight-up lying.

Admittedly, it’s a tough choice.

“Wow,” tweeted former CNN contributor Steve Cortes. “Just watched @donlemon , expecting an apology for the outrageous mockery he & his guests directed toward millions of voters. Instead, he simply said he was laughing at the joke & not at any people? Well, Don, on behalf of the Deplorables, your non-apology is not accepted!”

To be really honest, there was none needed. Frankly, we love it when the masks come off these people. It’s the greatest service a dolt like Don Lemon can possibly do for the country. Stop pretending that you are anything other than an elitist who loathes REAL America. Trust us, Don, the feeling is mutual.
