GOP SHAKEN After Sudden Firing – Here’s What We Know!
(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Monday, the announcement that Tucker Carlson was leaving Fox News shocked Republican circles, with many of his fans and allies defending him, despite the fact that there was no explanation for his departure.
Reps. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) tweeted out following the announcement that they “stand” with Carlson. Other Republicans also expressed concerns about the direction that the network was taking, especially following the aftermath of the 2020 election.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) in his tweet stated that this is a “big loss” for the network and that Carlson was the “boldest they had.’
However, there were some Republicans who were glad to hear of his exit from the network. One GOP staffer following the announcement wrote “Good riddance,” and then proceeded to accuse Carlson of promoting “nonsense” without considering what the ramifications would be. Critics of his have also claimed that his exit from the party would reduce his credibility and that it was unlikely that he would be able to retain the same level of influence.
One GOF staffer referred to Carlson as an “annoying headache” and added that following his departure he might become “less of a headache.”
Still, despite all the criticisms Carlson’s show was a top-rated primetime show and an appearance on it could be incredibly important for Republicans. Carlson was also one of the people willing to attack the GOP for their stance on Ukraine, and the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection, which was what drew fans to him.
