Helping Hillary: Obama Finally Finds Motivation to Fight ISIS
If you ever wondered what it might take to get President Obama to take ISIS seriously, a new report from Politico might have the answer. Terrorist attacks? Nah. His duty to protect the American people? Not so much. To make sure Hillary Clinton wins in November? Now that…that is a goal worth fighting for!
According to the website, the Obama administration is planning to launch a full-scale assault on ISIS troops occupying Mosul, Iraq starting in October…just one month away from the election. In fact, this plan may be implemented in conjunction with an attack on Raqqa, Syria, which is the Islamic State’s main headquarters. If all goes well, we could see a major U.S. victory over the terrorists by the end of October, providing Hillary Clinton with a major boost with just a week or so to go until voters choose.
From Politico:
Senior officers at U.S. central command who are overseeing the effort scoff at the notion that the Mosul offensive is being timed to help the candidate Obama is now actively campaigning for, his former secretary of state.
“Hurrying this thing along for political benefit would be just about the dumbest thing that we could do,” the senior Centcom officer told me this week, “and there’s been no pressure for us to do that. None. Iraqi and Kurdish fighters are going to fight for the city when they’re damned good and ready, and not before. There’s too much at stake to do it any other way.”
Well, it would be nice to believe that Obama wouldn’t put lives at risk for the sake of securing his political legacy, but…uh…yeah, that’s pretty much his entire M.O. Nothing is more important to this man than ensuring that he’s remembered for something other than the color of his skin. Now, that doesn’t mean that this is all being engineered to help Hillary Clinton win the election, but the timing is just so convenient.
Speaking of timing, why do we even have a clue about when this operation is scheduled to play out? Donald Trump has spoken of this foolishness in the past, and it’s probably time to talk about it again. Why are we broadcasting our exact military plans to the enemy? What possible sense does that make? Perhaps Obama’s Pentagon is playing games, and the battleplan is actually scheduled for another time. Otherwise, this is a rather extraordinary mistake, even if we give Obama the benefit of the doubt when it comes to his motivations.
