Hillary Promises $1 Trillion in New Taxes
Hillary Clinton denies that she is under criminal investigation, but her interview with the New York Daily News exposed her as the thief that she is: If she were to carry out her full agenda, it would cost the country more than $1 trillion in new taxes.
“I have connected up my proposals for the kind of investments I want to make with the taxes that I think have to be raised,” she said in a meeting with the paper’s editorial board. “So on individual pieces of my agenda, I try to demonstrate clearly that I have a way for paying for paid family leave, for example, for debt-free tuition. So I would spend about $100 billion a year. And I think it’s affordable, and I think it’s a smart way to make investments, to go back to our economic discussion, that will contribute to growing the economy.”
Clinton admitted that it was a “heavy lift,” but said that by connecting each tax hike to a proposed policy program, the American people would go along with the robbery. Even so, $100 billion a year comes to $1 trillion over a decade, a fact Clinton reluctantly admitted. Among the initiatives she intends to fund with the money: A college program that would reduce/eliminate student debt, an infrastructure plan, and – undoubtedly – a whole host of environmental regulations that will further wreck the economy.
It’s hardly surprising to see a Democrat planning to raise taxes, but it is remarkable how detached they are from the average American. Of course, Clinton massages all of these proposals with the usual liberal message. Oh, this will only affect the ultra-rich. Those corporate fat cats who are flying around on private jets while you slave away for the minimum wage. The party’s prime message – always, always, always – is one of wealth redistribution.
But for how long are people going to keep buying into this fairy tale? Under Obama, the only Americans who have fully recovered from the recession are…the ultra-rich! These Democrats play Robin Hood on TV, but their proposals don’t hurt the 1%. They crush the economy in ways that decimate the middle class and make it even more difficult for workers to improve their station in life. By building an agenda based on class warfare, they have crystallized those classes in ways that keep people down.
That’s not a side effect, either. It’s the entire point.
