HUGE NEWS: Email Shows Biden Lied About Contacting Burisma Energy
In several interviews this year, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden flatly denied that he had anything whatsoever to do with his son’s job working for a Ukrainian energy company while he himself was serving as Obama’s vice president. He didn’t discuss the job with his son, he didn’t have anything to do with getting his son the job, and the company – Burisma – certainly didn’t factor in to any decisions he made regarding U.S. – Ukrainian policy matters.
Well, it seems that ol’ Joe has been caught in a bit of a lie. A newly-released email, retrieved from a laptop that was left at a computer repair store in Delaware last April, shows that Biden not only had contact with Burisma executives, he actually met with one of the top members of the board.
From The New York Post:
The never-before-revealed meeting is mentioned in a message of appreciation that Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burisma, allegedly sent Hunter Biden on April 17, 2015, about a year after Hunter joined the Burisma board at a reported salary of up to $50,000 a month.
“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure,” the e-mail reads.
An earlier e-mail from May 2014 also shows Pozharskyi, reportedly Burisma’s No. 3 exec, asking Hunter for “advice on how you could use your influence” on the company’s behalf.
This is not the first time that Biden’s deception on this issue has come to light. Last year, Fox News host Tucker Carlson famously revealed a golf course photo that showed Biden and Hunter playing a round with Burisma board member Devon Archer. We were expected at the time to believe that no conversations about the energy business, Hunter’s job, or the Obama administration’s position on Ukraine were discussed on the links.
“I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings,” Biden told a reporter this year. “I know Trump deserves to be investigated. He is violating every basic norm of a president. You should be asking him why is he on the phone with a foreign leader, trying to intimidate a foreign leader. You should be looking at Trump.”
For as much scrutiny – up to and including impeachment – that Trump’s dealing with Ukraine got from the Democrats and the media, you’d think that these emails would draw at least some interest from the Fourth Estate.
As usual, though, they are deafeningly silent.
