Imbecilic GA Congressman Has a Plan to Pack the Court
The Supreme Court is not ruling on politically disputed matters like the left wants it to, so angry Democrats want to change the rules of the game and put some more judges on the bench to make it a liberal-majority court again.
Led by Congressman Hank Johnson of Georgia, eight elected Democrats on Monday called for new legislation that would put four more justices in the Supreme Court to counter the conservative majority of justices. Johnson was cited telling The Hill that four more seats need to be added to the existing Supreme Court bench because “basic freedoms were under assault” from the conservative majority of justices.
Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts, one of the eight Democrats calling for more justices on the bench, claimed that Americans have lost confidence in the Supreme Court so it needs to be expanded. He stated:
Recent polls show that Americans’ confidence in the highest court is at an all-time low.
Markey’s rationale of changing the constitution of the Supreme Court because polls allegedly show people don’t like it anymore falls flat on the grounds of reason and sanity. But his colleague Mondaire Jones took it further down the lunacy lane. Mondaire, House Democrat from New York, called the current conservative majority of the Supreme Court a “nightmare scenario” that resulted from “GOP court-packing”. His statement borders on ignorance and delusion since the Republicans didn’t change any rules or make new ones to put their last 3 justices on the bench. Republicans simply did not pack the court.
Interestingly, the Democrats pressing for expanding the court also now find the life-serving status of Supreme court justices problematic when Joe Biden just recently put a younger Ketanji Brown Jackson on the bench to replace the 83-year-old liberal judge Stephen Breyer. Leftist Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was 87 when she died in 2020 while still a Supreme court justice. She had stopped attending the hearings and wrote opinions from her home because of her age and health issues; however, the left never asked her to retire.
Since the controversial Roe v Wade ruling allowing unchecked abortions was overturned last month, the left’s political and activist wings have gone on a multi-directional offensive, ranging from proposed changes to the Supreme Court bench to new pro-abortion legislation on the federal level, and harassing conservative justices of the Supreme Court. A few weeks before Roe v Wade was overturned, a radical leftist fanatic was arrested for plotting to murder Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
