Libs Upset Over Separated Migrant Families are Ignoring THIS Disturbing Statistic
Democrats have found what they believe to be a winning immigration issue in the Trump administration’s supposedly “evil” policy of separating children from their parents at the border. In truth, of course, this policy is not “Trump’s” but rather his administration’s adherence to the law of the land. Federal law requires that illegal immigrants seeking asylum at the border be put into detention facilities while they await a hearing.
The Trump administration has enacted a “zero tolerance” policy for would-be crossers, meaning that many more families will be separated while these hearings proceed. This is known north of the border and south; still, the families come. You’d think, if this is such a heart-wrenching experience, they would realize that maybe coming to the United States is not their best option. Either way, they are making a clear and willful choice to keep coming. There is nothing heartless or evil about enforcing the law, especially when that law is well known to all involved.
You’ll also notice that there is one aspect of this situation that all of Trump’s critics are hesitant to talk about: The fact that many immigrant adults show up at the border with children who are not their own in the hopes of gaining entry to the U.S. To ignore this is to encourage it, and that’s exactly what the open-borders crowd would like us to do.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, this problem has only gotten worse in the first months of 2018.
“In the first five months of fiscal year ‘18, CBP saw a 315 percent increase in individuals using children to pose as family units to gain entry into the country compared to fiscal year ’17,” DHS Assistant Secretary Jonathan Hoffman told reporters this week. “Smugglers and drug traffickers know the loopholes well, and they know that if they reach our borders, they will be released into our country and evade the consequences of their criminal action.”
Trump is determined to stop the flow of illegal immigrants by any reasonable means necessary, and that requires the closing of those loopholes that Hoffman spoke of. If it seems so cruel and inhumane to Democrats, there’s a quick fix for that: Change the law so that the executive branch no longer needs to separate detained families at the border. OR, better yet, provide the funding for the president’s much-needed wall and let’s work together to make our country’s borders more secure.
But of course, they don’t want to do any of that, because they LOVE that immigrant children are being ripped away from their parents. They love anything they can use to cast Trump as the second coming of Hitler, even in those instances where his policies are essentially indistinguishable from Obama’s. They are using this as a political cudgel, nothing more.
Their crocodile tears come at the expense of U.S. security, but hey, they don’t care about that either.
