Limbaugh: Say, Why Do We Never See Joe Biden Come Out at Night?

Former Vice President Joe Biden is doing his best to overcome widespread speculation about his mental health – speculation that only intensifies after every media appearance he makes. Acutely aware of this problem, his team has attempted to limit Biden’s public appearances as much as possible, aided tremendously by the presence of the pandemic and the excuses it gives the Democratic candidate to stay in his basement.

But even with his schedule kept to an absolute minimum, Biden still manages to rack up gaffe after gaffe, raising new questions all the time about his cognitive fitness.

While the Biden campaign has dismissed these concerns as unfounded, the rumors continue to swirl. This past weekend, a post went viral claiming to be from a former Biden staffer. In it, the staffer claimed that the former vice president suffers from advanced dementia and is currently on medication that causes incontinence. While the post is in line with what we’ve seen from Biden in his public appearances, it is hardly the definitive statement about his mental health. It is unsigned and uncorroborated in any way.

That said, concerns about Biden’s cognitive abilities are far from unfounded. To that end, we were intrigued by Rush Limbaugh’s latest speculation, which hit on an interesting question: Why is it that we so seldomly see Biden out and about at night?

“People with dementia often, not always, but often get more confused and nervous in the late afternoon and the evening. If you have had someone in your family suffer from dementia or Parkinson’s — not Parkinson’s, but Alzheimer’s to one degree or another, you probably have seen this,” Limbaugh said on his radio show this week.

After elaborating on the strange dementia-related phenomenon known as “sundowning,” Limbaugh said that there was cause to wonder if Biden isn’t suffering from this pattern.

“I’ve been looking at this. I can’t recall when Biden is out in public at night, save for the Democrat debates which were way earlier this year,” he said. “You gotta go back to January, February, March, and even then there weren’t very many. But of recent campaign appearances, I can’t recall, I can’t remember Biden out in public at night. And certainly not after a full day of negotiating world peace and having a helicopter ride to the hangar, two-hour speech and banter with 15,000 people and then going out and doing a debate. I haven’t seen Biden engage in that kind of rigorous schedule.”

Granted, this is high speculation, and granted, the Democratic debates weren’t all that long ago. At the same time, Trump may have hit on a point when he accused Biden of prepping for those debates by taking performance-enhancing drugs of some kind. Maybe he needed a little boost before going out there so he didn’t totally embarrass himself – a strategy that didn’t always work, incidentally.

Fact is, if Americans are getting ready to vote for a guy who is going to be a mental shell of himself within the next year, that’s information we need to have in hand. Especially with Kamala Harris waiting eagerly in the wings.
