Maxine Waters Shrieks About Putin in the White House
Few members of Congress are as reliably stupid as Rep. Maxine Waters of California. Already eaten up by a severe case of the dumbass before President Trump’s election, she has compounded that disease with a ravenous strain of Trump Derangement Syndrome. The two illnesses, feeding off each other, have conspired to give us a woman who is a delight to listen to, if only because it makes for some of the finest comedy in modern American history. No really, this woman is a laugh riot.
Always one to turn the mundane into the hysterical, Waters warned this week of the frightening implications of failing to remove Trump from office: “Revelation by former WH officials proves what we’ve known all along: Trump is #PutinsPuppet. Trump repeated Putin’s talking point that Ukraine, not Russia, interfered in the ‘16 election. Mark my words. If the Senate doesn’t remove him, Trump will invite Putin to the WH next yr.”
Uh. Okay.
We’re not exactly the biggest fans of Vladimir Putin, but we’re more comfortable with Putin visiting the White House than we are with Waters having any power at all on Capitol Hill. Sometimes things happen and we all just have to suck them up: Bad dudes meet with the president, and imbeciles win elections in deep-blue California districts. Whaddya gonna do?
Waters was referencing a recent Washington Post article that said Trump believed Ukraine interfered in the 2016 election because “Putin told me.”
First of all, you don’t have to rely on Putin’s word to know that Ukraine put their thumb on the 2016 scales; you can take it from Politico and other mainstream media outlets who reported as much back in 2017. They may want to squash those old stories these days and pretend they were never written – that’s how inconvenient they are to the current narrative – but the fact remains that they were.
Second, it’s the Washington Post talking to their infamous anonymous sources. How much stock are we really going to put into it?
Third, there is something deeply suspicious about the fact that Ukrainian-funded-and-founded CrowdStrike was the only company to actually examine the DNC servers firsthand. And it just so happened that they found evidence to conclude that it was their #1 enemies in the world who committed the hack. Put that evidence together with the phony dossier, and baby, you’ve got a witch hunt going!
Mark our words, Maxine: Whatever harm Putin may or may not have caused to our democracy with his 2016 meddling, it pales in comparison to the harm Democrats are causing with their meaningless impeachment. And if we have to choose between a Putin visit to the White House and a Democrat president in 2021? Well, that’s the easiest choice we’ve made all year.
