Michael Moore Blasts Biden for Courting “Racist Redneck” Vote in Michigan
Far-left filmmaker Michael Moore has been loudly sounding the alarm over the last week or so, warning that the polls show Joe Biden beginning to falter in the race against President Donald Trump. Moore, who was unique among liberals in warning that Trump could win the 2016 election in a surprise upset, has penned at least two different panic-button posts over the last month in which he implores Biden supporters not to get complacent about their candidate. He has also been critical of Biden’s failure to get up to Michigan and court the blue-collar workers ignored by Hillary Clinton the last time around.
Strangely enough, though, he’s now upset about Biden doing exactly that. When the former vice president accepted and touted an endorsement from Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder (R) this weekend, Moore criticized the campaign for embracing the wrong kinds of Michiganders.
“The Biden campaign, in an effort to convince Flint voters to stay home on Nov 3 and lose Michigan again, happily announced & embraced the endorsement of former Gov. Rick Snyder — the man who poisoned Flint’s water. 10,000 children with permanent brain damage,” Moore tweeted. “Countless dead. Shame!”
He continued in a follow-up post: “So the Biden campaign thought getting a few more White racist redneck votes in Michigan was more important than getting the Black vote in Flint? Better to embrace the mass-poisoning Republican ex-Governor than worry about ‘those Black people?’ Are u nuts? Apologize & retract NOW.”
Where did we put our popcorn…?
Moore’s followers were not entirely supportive of his sudden lambasting of the Democratic candidate, and he later returned to assure them that he was still fully on board with Team Biden.
“To be clear: I will vote for Biden. But I will not lie for Biden. For the millions of us spending every waking moment for the next 59 days trying to remove Trump, we won’t succeed if we have to also fight the Party and the Campaign who seem to be stupidly working against us,” he tweeted.
To be perfectly honest, we’re not all that interested in what people like Michael Moore think about Biden or Rick Snyder or Flint water or anything else. But this is yet another illustrative example of how Biden doesn’t have anything that could be termed a “base.” He is a placeholder. Literally the only thing recommending him for the presidency to these leftists is that he’s “not Trump.”
We continue to strongly doubt that this meager qualification will be enough.
