Mike Pence: “You Won’t Be Safe in Joe Biden’s America”
In an effective speech from Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Vice President Mike Pence made the case Wednesday for giving President Donald Trump and himself four more years of control over the Executive Branch. Pence told a crowd on the third night of the Republican National Committee that Trump’s re-election was a vital ingredient in restoring law and order, national health, and the economy in the wake of a year fraught with turmoil.
Mindful of the riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Pence hammered Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as apologists for criminal violence in many of America’s cities.
“The hard truth is you won’t be safe in Joe Biden’s America,” Pence said.
The vice president said that regardless of the details of this police shooting or that one, it is time for the chaos to end around the nation.
“Let me be clear: the violence must stop – whether in Minneapolis, Portland or Kenosha,” he said. “Too many heroes have died defending our freedom to see Americans strike each other down. We will have law and order on the streets of this country for every American of every race and creed and color.”
It was probably not coincidence that Pence spoke from Fort McHenry, the site of the battle that inspired “The Star-Spangled Banner” – a song that was uncontroversial in its patriotism before Colin Kaepernick and his fellow BLM radicals decided otherwise.
Pence addressed the Democratic candidate and his pessimism on both the coronavirus and the economy.
“Last week, Joe Biden said ‘no miracle is coming.’ What Joe doesn’t seem to understand is that America is a nation of miracles and we’re on track to have the world’s first safe, effective coronavirus vaccine by the end of this year,” Pence said. “President Trump set our nation on a path to freedom and opportunity from the very first day of this administration. But Joe Biden would set America on a path of socialism and decline.”
That’s not a novel attack on the Democratic Party, but it’s one worth endlessly repeating. Biden is trying desperately to present himself a moderate candidate, but his agenda – written in conjunction with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders – would make him the most liberal president in American history, bar none. And with people like AOC and Sanders pushing him to embrace their so-called “progressive” ideas throughout his presidency, the feckless Biden would surely cave.
We can’t afford that kind of non-leadership at this point in our nation’s history.
