Most Americans WANT Strong Border – New Poll!
(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – A new Fox News poll has shown that the majority of Americans prefer policies that help secure and strengthen the southern border while also supporting policies that help create pathways for migrants to enter the country legally.
The survey was originally released on Sunday and showed that 74 percent of American voters support having an increase in border agents at the southern border. Seventy-three percent were also in favor of increasing the number of immigration judges available to handle asylum cases at the border. More importantly, 73 percent also supported the creation of easier ways to migrate to the country, which would help incentivize migrants to choose a legal pathway for entering the U.S.
The poll also showed that 66 percent of voters supported allowing illegal immigrants who already have jobs in the U.S. to stay in the country and apply to receive legal status instead of deportation.
When it comes to the controversial idea of a border wall, voters are split down the middle, with 49 percent in support of one and 49 percent against it.
Republican pollster Daron Shaw, who along with Democrat Chris Anderson helps with the Fox News Poll, has said that voters are interested in having a stronger border and handling those who try to enter the country illegally.
Along partisan lines, 58 percent of Democrats and 89 percent of Republicans are in favor of increasing border agents, while 60 percent of Democrats and 86 percent of Republicans also want to see more immigration judges handling asylum cases. In terms of making immigration easier, 87 percent of Democrats and 59 percent of Republicans support that idea.
