NBC News Runs Unbelievably Biased Story on Barr’s 2016 Investigation

Wow. We’ve seen more than our share of biased, jaded, horrible journalism over the last three years, but NBC News’s story chronicling Attorney General William Barr’s investigation into the origins of the 2016 Trump/Russia probe just might take the cake. This is one of the worst, most pandering pieces of media trash we’ve seen in quite some time. Written by Ken Dilanian, Julia Ainsley, and Tom Winter, this story is proof positive that liberal Democrats are scared to death about what Barr might uncover in this international investigation. They are prepping their readers for the worst.

Just take a sample of this abomination:

A review launched by Attorney General William Barr into the origins of the Russia investigation has expanded significantly amid concerns about whether the probe has any legal or factual basis, multiple current and former officials told NBC News.

If Durham is conducting a criminal investigation, it’s not clear what allegations of wrongdoing are being examined. The Justice Department has not detailed any, and a spokeswoman declined to comment for this story.

“I don’t know what the legal basis for this is,” [former CIA Director John] Brennan said, calling the probe “bizarre.”

Greg Brower, former assistant FBI director for congressional affairs and a former U.S. Attorney, said it’s not normal for a U.S. Attorney to conduct an investigation without an FBI referral of criminal allegations. That’s the role of inspector generals, he said.

“It’s unusual to the point that it looks to be political and it’s a bad thing for DOJ to appear to be doing something for political reasons,” Brower said, adding that it appears that “for political purposes, the White House wants to be able to say through the election cycle that all of this is being investigated.”

On and on it goes like this, for nearly 1600 words.

This is a blatant attempt to give Democrats the only out possible when Barr and Durham go public with their findings: This was a Trump-led smear campaign against the intelligence community, the FBI, and the Obama administration. Anything they found, therefore, is just a Republican lie. Don’t trust your eyes. Believe us, instead. You know, the same people who told you for two years that Trump was a secret Russian agent working with Putin to destroy the U.S. from the inside out!

Based on this kind of reporting, we can only assume that Barr and Durham are onto something earth-shattering. They may have collected the keys to this hoax. And when they start bringing charges, all the biased NBC articles in the world aren’t going to save the perpetrators from the consequences they have coming.
