Obama Takes Snide Shot at Trump: “We Can’t Hide Behind a Wall”

It’s been long-established that you simply don’t step foot on foreign soil and begin badmouthing the U.S. president. And you would think that if anyone would “get” that, it would be someone who was once the U.S. president himself. But if the former president is Barack Hussein Obama, then all bets are off the table. This is, after all, the man who went on an infamous apology tour following his election, begging our European allies for their “forgiveness” after the George W. Bush years.
Well, now he’s apparently on Apology Tour 2.0, appearing in Berlin on Thursday where he received – according to the AP – a “rock-star welcome” from an adoring crowd at Germany’s Brandenburg Gate. After he soaked up the adulation, Obama took a few not-so-veiled shots at nationalism, anti-immigration sentiments, and President Donald Trump.
“We have to push back against those trends that would violate human rights or suppress democracy or restrict individual freedoms,” Obama said. “We can’t isolate ourselves. We can’t hide behind a wall.”
And the crowd goes wild.
Putting aside the tastelessness of attacking Trump from Germany (while Trump is circling the world on his first foreign trip, no less), let’s just look at the idiocy of those comments. We can’t restrict individual freedoms? OBAMA said that? In Germany, where his best bud Angela Merkel is an anti-free speech zealot? The parody writes itself.
Furthermore, just revel in the audacity of this idiot to lecture Berlin on the evils of building a “wall” only three days after a Libyan radical destroyed the lives of 22 young people at a concert in Manchester. Maybe if the UK was a little more serious about keeping Islamic “refugees” out of their country, that wouldn’t have been the last concert of those people’s lives.
And for a final dose of irony, TMZ reported earlier this year that the Obamas were getting ready to build a nice, fancy brick wall to surround their enormous D.C. mansion. Apparently, it’s fine for rich politicians to hide behind walls, but the rest of us rubes have to live out here in the open where any random terrorist can blow us to smithereens. Fantastic.

1] The 2011 Martin & Ruark “The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on US Taxpayers” “estimates the annual costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local level to be about $113 Billion; nearly $29 Billion at the federal level and $84 Billion at the state and local level”.
Today’s and future costs are significantly greater.
2] The $113 Billion did not include the cost of humans and illicit drugs trafficking, lost citizen’s wages, the society’s drug users and crime victims nor positive benefit factors as less crime from repeat deported criminals, safer streets and communities.
3] The recent MIT and the anti-Trump Washington Post’s fact checker estimated the wall cost could be as high as $25 to $41 Billion for the entire border length.
4] Reducing the annual costs by 10%, the worse-case Wall Cost would be repaid within 2 to 4 years !!!
5] When did any government (or any financial adviser) make an investment with a 25% to 50% return within the first year followed by that annuity for life?
6] It would be just a bonus if Mexico made any repayment
7] Even I would invest in a limited 5% bond to be repaid in within 10 years from the above savings. That bond issue would generate too much money if made available
