Ocasio-Cortez: Palestinians Must “Riot” Against the “Criminal” Israel
Not willing to give leftist ground too her anti-Semitic colleagues Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez proved this week that she is as extreme as any Muslim when it comes to demanding that Israel take a backseat to the terrorists of the Palestinian Territories. In an interview with New York radio program “Ebro in the Morning,” AOC said that it was the duty of Palestinians to “riot” against their “criminal” Jewish oppressors.
The conversation began with host Ebro Darden asking: “How do you have white supremacist Jews? How do you have people like Stephen Miller? How do you have these individuals who are legit aligning with racism and white supremacy, but they’re Jewish? And it’s something that most people can’t wrap their brains around. But it’s a real thing.”
Well, it helps to make sense of it when you realize that Miller is not a racist and that calling him a white supremacist is the very height of absurdity. But then, we assume that liberals like Darden are too far gone to consider that point of view. We see, then, how they would be very confused.
“And what’s going on with Israel and Palestine,” he continued, “while it’s very, very deep, it is very, very criminal, and it is very, very unjust.”
This sounds like someone who very, very much does not know what he’s talking about.
But that didn’t stop Ocasio-Cortez was agreeing. Of course.
“Absolutely,” she said. “I think, too, where we’re at as a country when it comes to Israel-Palestine is very much a generational issue.”
She said Republicans were off the mark when they criticized opponents of Israel as anti-Semitic.
“Criticizing the occupation doesn’t make you anti-Israel, frankly. It doesn’t mean that you are against the existence of a nation,” she said. “It means that you believe in human rights, and it’s about making sure that Palestinian human rights are equal to Israeli human rights, and there are a lot of troubling things happening there.
“Jewish people have been persecuted throughout all of human history, but I don’t think that by marginalizing Palestinians, you create safety,” she continued. “I believe that injustice is a threat to the safety of all people, because once you have a group that is marginalized and marginalized and marginalized — once someone doesn’t have access to clean water, they have no choice but to riot, right? And it doesn’t have to be that way.”
Shortly after her election, Ocasio-Cortez – caught in the weeds on her ignorance – admitted that she was “not the expert” when it came to the powderkeg issues in the Middle East. It seems, with this interview, she just wanted to remind us of that fact.
