Preschool Expels Girl After Parents Question Gay Education
Parents all over the country have raised concerns about the type of sex education their children are getting in public school, but we’re used to these stories coming out of middle and high school. But if an incident in Denver is any indication, even preschools are beginning to introduce students to some very sensitive topics.
R.B. Sinclair was concerned when she saw what kinds of materials her 4-year-old daughter was being introduced to at Montview preschool. According to the Denver Post, Sinclair “raised questions about books read in their class, including ones that told the stories about same-sex couples and worms unsure about their gender.” She asked Montview officials to excuse her daughter from topics focused on sexuality.
Sinclair’s concerns were sparked by a day where her daughter came home “worried that her dad might no longer like girls.” She met with school officials, but the outcome was not what she had hoped for. Instead of working with her, they handed her a letter that said the girl was no longer a “good fit” for Montview.
“There was no consideration for the bias against my family’s culture, faith and concerns,” Sinclair said. She questioned the need for diversity training in preschool. “I think at this age they don’t know what bias is. They could have kids from Mars and they would still play with each other. It’s not that she isn’t exposed to diversity, because it is the world we live in, but how are they having these conversations?”
If Democrats want to understand how someone like Donald Trump can get this close to the Republican nomination, they might want to peruse stories like this one. Not that Trump has said much about sex education or the LGBT movement, but it’s illustrative of how quickly this country is changing. Ten years ago, you could easily imagine a preschool student being asked to withdraw because he wears a dress to class. Today, that kid would be fine, but anyone who even came close to criticizing the kid would be on the way out. That’s a major shift, and it’s only one of many.
The anger among conservatives isn’t due to white people driven crazy by a black president, no matter how much the left wants that accusation to stick. It’s about a liberal agenda that has far out-paced the natural course of social progress. They are turning our social values upside down in service of a demographic that makes up less than 5% of the American population. At best! Not because they care about gays and transgenders, but because it gives them another way to demonize Christians and conservatives. We are tired of them telling us that our beliefs are evil and wrong.
