Republicans HIDE Ron DeSantis Records – Is This Intentional?

(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Tuesday, Florida House lawmakers approved a bill in a party-line vote of 84-31 that would exempt the governor, their immediate family, and other state leaders from having to include their travel records in their financial disclosures.

The Republicans who passed the bill have claimed that withholding these records from the public is going to improve safety and security for these state leaders and officials. However, the Democrats have criticized the bill, claiming that it was specifically created to aid Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis during his likely presidential campaign. While DeSantis has not yet announced his plans for 2024, it is widely suspected that he will be joining the 2024 GOP primary as soon as the state’s legislative session ends.

The Democrats have further claimed that this bill would shield all information regarding DeSantis’ travels, including who he met with during those trips. This is particularly important, as DeSantis has recently taken many trips both domestically and internationally in preparation for his 2024 bid for the White House. DeSantis’ international trips were seen as an attempt by the governor to strengthen his foreign policy position.

DeSantis remarked during the press conference for the bill signing that he was not involved in proposing this bill, but he did add that he could see how this bill could help ease security concerns, especially for people like him who often face multiple threats and are being targeted. By keeping their travel shielded, it could potentially help keep those people safe.
