Tearful MSNBC Commentator on Joe Biden: “He Heals the Brokenhearted.”
Oh boy. After spending the last five years telling viewers that Donald Trump is a Putin-compromised American Nazi, MSNBC contributors are ready to put their Hats of Hostility away and switch back to the adoring mode they relied on when Barack Obama was in the White House. It kicked off in earnest on Tuesday when, the night before the inauguration, contributor Eddie Glaude teared up as he watched the coronavirus memorial event at the National Mall.
Glaude solemnly praised Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for “pulling the grief and regret out of the privacy of our hearts for a moment so that we all could share it.”
If that wasn’t enough, Glaude went into self-parody: “I’m thinking about all those folks who, just for a moment, the nation shared their grief. Oh, what a first step. What a beautiful step. I’m reminded of the Psalmist, you know, ‘He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.'”
To compare Biden to God is a statement of such insane absurdity that we can do nothing other than laugh. Who can deliver such utterances without immediately slapping themselves in the face? Do these TV liberals have no shame? No self-awareness? We’ve seen people go overboard and assign messiah-status to a lot of people in the last forty or fifty years, but we’re not sure we’ve ever seen anyone as manifestly underserving of it as….Joe Biden?
Like, really. THAT guy?
But Glaude wasn’t the only cable news leftist to fall down and worship the incoming president. Over at CNN, political chief David Chalian couldn’t help but give in to his partisan emotions while watching the coronavirus memorial.
“The contrast on display tonight was so stark, I mean those lights that are just shooting out of the Lincoln Memorial along the Reflecting Pool, it’s like almost extensions of Joe Biden’s arms embracing America,” Chalian said.
“It was a moment where the new president came to town and sort of convened the country in this moment of remembrance, outstretching his arms,” he continued. “And contrast that with the video you just saw of a disgraced president, on his way out, at his lowest point in his presidency, at the very end here, by himself, fighting for his political movement to live on.”
Biden’s arms embracing America.
Oh man, it’s going to be a long four years.
