Terrorist Stabs Nine at Minnesota Mall

While congressional Democrats gear up for another week of Gun Control Theater on Capitol Hill, a terrorist in Minnesota proved Saturday that you don’t need guns to hurt innocent people; you just need the will.

Little was known on Sunday about the attack, but the early facts point in an obvious direction. Authorities shot and killed the suspect, a man who stabbed and injured at least nine people at a St. Cloud shopping mall while reportedly wearing a security guard’s uniform. St. Cloud Police Chief Blair Anderson shied away from calling the mass stabbing an act of terrorism, but he confirmed to reporters that the man asked another individual if he was Muslim. Anderson also said that the man made reference to Allah during the attack.

“We will be diligent and get to the bottom of this,” he said. “Starting tomorrow, things won’t be the same here.”

The FBI issued a statement saying they were “actively engaged” with the St. Cloud Police Department. The bureau said Sunday they were investigating the attack as an act of terrorism.

On Sunday, the Islamic State claimed credit for the attack through their official news agency, Amaq: “The executor of the stabbing attacks in Minnesota yesterday was a soldier of the Islamic State who carried out the operation in response to calls to target citizens of countries belonging to the crusader coalition.”

In an interview with CNN, Anderson said that the ISIS statement didn’t change anything. “We still don’t have anything substantive that would suggest anything more than what we know already, which is this was a lone attacker,” he said.

So we’re going that route again, as though there is a substantial difference between these so-called “lone wolves” and those who are actually funded and trained by ISIS. All of these attacks can be traced back to the same root – not ISIS the organization, but Radical Islam, the religion and ideology. Unfortunately, while Obama is (somewhat) willing to go after ISIS, he has no appetite whatsoever to go after the real problem.

In fact, it’s worse than that. Obama – and Hillary is no better – is actively trying to separate Islam from this kind of terrorism, no matter how clear the link. Our nation’s law enforcement authorities are being prevented from making the kinds of connections that would actually stop these attacks before they happen. Because of “Islamophobia,” we’re willing to let people die.

Until the American people get sick of watching their friends and families get murdered, Islamic terrorism will find us. Not just in Boston, Washington, and New York, but in Orlando, St. Cloud, San Bernardino, and everywhere else.
