(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has alleged that “self-loathing has swept” over the U.S. She continued to dismiss the claims that the country is racist during her first campaign event on Wednesday in Charleston, S.C.

Haley, while talking to supporters, said that “self-loathing” was in “the classroom, the boardroom, and the backrooms of government.” She added that people keep claiming that the country is “flawed” and even President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have been claiming the country is racist. However, Haley claims that is not the case.

Haley is planning on focusing part of her campaign on the culture war. In the video, released on Tuesday Haley included a montage of photos from the 1619 project as well as a sign that read “Racism is a pandemic.”

In the video, Haley says that many are turning to the country’s history to allege that the nation’s “founding principles are bad.” She added that was not the case and that the country was neither “evil” nor “racist.”

Haley is the daughter of Indian immigrants, a background that she referred to during her Wednesday event. As she said her parents had left India to create a better life. She added that their town in South Carolina “came to love us” despite the fact that it was not “always easy” as they “were the only Indian family.”

Haley, who previously served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under the Trump administration, was the first Republican to officially challenge former President Trump for the GOP presidential nomination.
