“Totally Phony”: Lawmaker Lays Down Truth About Collusion Hoax
In a frank interview with Fox News this weekend, Rep. Peter King of the House Intelligence Committee said that Donald Trump Jr.’s official congressional interview last week cleared up nearly all doubt about the possibility of the Trump campaign’s collusion with Russia.
“Nobody listening to that interview could come out of that thinking there was any collusion at all,” King said Sunday. “This is totally phony.”
King went on to say that the president should not remove Special Counsel Robert Mueller because it would only serve to give the Democrats more ammunition. “They’ll blow this up and come up with another phony issue,” King said of the biased mainstream media.
That said, King is eager to move beyond the ridiculous accusations of collusion so House investigators can begin looking into more important matters, such as the deal Hillary Clinton made to sell U.S. uranium interests to Russia.
On the other end of the spectrum is Democrat Adam Schiff, who told CNN’s “State of the Union” program on Sunday that anyone with half a brain would conclude that the Trump campaign was guilty of collusion. Schiff, who co-chairs the House Intelligence Committee, said that the campaign’s association with WikiLeaks, the unreported meetings between Trump officials and Russian diplomats, and the Russian influence campaign all point in one direction.
“To believe these are all isolated incidents and not connected to each other; it just doesn’t make rational sense,” he said. “Now, can you prove beyond a reasonable doubt, will be Mueller’s question to answer: that the Russians communicated to the campaign the way they were going to deliver the help they offered, and the campaign accepted, was not by handing the emails directly over to the campaign but by publishing them.”
Wow, so we’re down to this now, eh? Russia offered to help the Trump campaign…the Trump campaign shrugged and said, “OK,”…and Russia then published the hacked emails on WikiLeaks? That’s the story the top House Democrat on the Intelligence Committee is going with? This is preposterous and we’re not even sure – even if Mueller COULD prove this to be the case – that anything described there rises to the level of a crime. At best, we’re talking about a political talking point the Democrats can use for the next three years. And even that…it’s weak, to say the least.
To make the case against Trump, Mueller needs to prove that at least some of that explosive “dossier” is actually correct, and that’s not gonna happen. This was a piece of Democrat propaganda – pure campaign chicanery – that, for some reason, the FBI decided they would take seriously. And that reason is that the Obama administration and the Deep State intelligence community was determined to make sure that Trump never got anywhere near the White House.
This has been a fool’s game from the starting gun, and it needs to end before our very democracy is put in danger. It’s time for Democrats to admit they got it wrong, restore full faith and confidence in the President of the United States, and end this investigation before they wreck this country beyond repair.
