Trump Gets Unexpected Surprise – What Now?
(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – A Fox News national survey has shown an increase in the support that former President Donald Trump currently has in the Republican primary race. At the same time, President Biden is still facing some uncertainty with Democratic primary voters.
Republican primary voters were given a list of 15 candidates, both announced and potential, to choose from for the 2024 presidential nomination. In the survey, which was released on Wednesday, it was found that his lead against his most likely primary challenger, Florida governor Ron DeSantis, has doubled from 15 points in February to 30 points now. Specifically, in February, Trump had 43 percent of the votes while DeSantis had 28 percent, but now Trump has 54 percent support from voters and DeSantis only has 24 percent.
The rest of the Republican candidates were unable to even reach double digits, with former vice president Pence coming in third place with 6 percent, former Rep. Liz Cheney and former U.S. ambassador Nikki Haley both having 3 percent, and all the other candidates coming in at less than 2 percent.
Trump’s support in every demographic, except white men who have a college education, has increased. Of those who voted for Trump in the 2020 general election, 60 percent have stated that they would continue to support him, while 25 percent are supporting DeSantis and 5 percent are supporting Pence. In terms of a second choice, most Trump primary voters would choose DeSantis.
