If you got all of your information about Donald Trump from the left-wing press, you would think he was one of the worst men to ever grace American soil, much less run for president. And even if you didn’t wholly buy into the narrative that made him out to be a racist, a fear-mongerer, and a sexist pig, you would almost certainly acknowledge that he is somewhat anti-Muslim.
But once you get out of the liberal bubble, things don’t play out according to the media’s storyline. The biggest proof of that? Well, it might come from a new study conducted by the Council on American-Islamic Relations. According to their survey, Donald Trump is the top choice of Muslims on the Republican side of the ticket. Granted, his support is still minuscule – he carries only 7.5% of that demographic as compared to Hillary Clinton’s 52% – but he’s still beating out every other Republican candidate, many of whom have slammed Trump for his proposal to ban Muslim immigration.
According to a story in The Atlantic, the CAIR survey was unscientific and possibly unreliable. And even if it was an accurate poll, Trump’s tiny share of the Muslim vote is unlikely to make much of a difference in the general election. Thus, as a political story, there’s not much weight to this one.
But as a story about America and human nature and the liberal media, this is a big deal. It is a reflection of Trump’s popularity among Republican voters in general. The more the media persists in painting this man as a modern-day Hitler, the more support he gets. That support comes from Muslims, Hispanics, blacks, and other demographics that would presumably be aghast at his candidacy of white supremacy. It’s almost like…it’s almost like…there’s no racism there after all!
Media lies are at least part of what led to Trump’s early rise in the first place. And the fictionalized version of Trump fed to us by his detractors may be largely responsible for his continued success. The liberal press refuses to relinquish their control over the American psyche, no matter how badly it backfires. Why is it backfiring? Two reasons: One, more Americans recognize these lies than ever before, partially because they’ve grown so outrageous and partially because the internet has diversified the media. Two, because minorities are not as desperate to view themselves as victims as the Democratic Party imagines them to be.
Intelligent Muslims don’t want terrorist attacks to become commonplace in this country anymore than intelligent whites. Not only do they share our sympathy for the victims, but they recognize that every ISIS fanatic who sheds innocent blood makes their own lot in life a great deal harder. When you step away from all of the insanity in the media, it actually makes perfect sense that Trump would lead among Muslims.
Now…if only that intelligence can spread.
