Trump Takes a Swipe at Pelosi’s Salon Scandal in Weekend Tweet
President Donald Trump took a hard swipe at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Saturday, capitalizing joyfully on the salon scandal that has plagued her for the past week. In criticizing Pelosi, Trump also managed to get a hit in on his opponent in the general election: Good ol’ Joe Biden.
“Nancy Pelosi said she got ‘set up’ by the owner (a very good one) of a beauty parlor,” the president wrote. “If so, how will she do in negotiations against President Xi of China, President Putin of Russia, or Kim Jong Un of North Korea?”
Trump continued: “Not so well I suspect, but far better than Joe Hiden’ would do!”
Pelosi has been unable to put the scandal behind her, mostly because she refuses to take any responsibility whatsoever for her actions. The most powerful Democrat in the country (and, as the left never tires of telling us, the most powerful elected woman in American history) would rather throw a small business owner under the bus than admit that she thought she was above the petty coronavirus restrictions that the rest of us peasants have to abide by.
Instead of simply apologizing and acknowledging that she made a mistake, she doubled down, got defensive, and claimed to be the victim of a conspiracy.
To say that it was a pathetic sight would be an insult to all things pathetic.
In an interview with Fox News after the footage of an unmasked Pelosi was revealed, salon owner Erica Kious said she was taken aback by the House Speaker’s entitlement.
“It was a slap in the face that she went in, you know, that she feels that she can just go and get her stuff done while no one else can go in, and I can’t work,” Kious said. “We’re supposed to look up to this woman, right? It is just disturbing.”
It is, but really: Who is still looking up to this fool? Who could watch her theatrically tear up the State of the Union speech and still come away with even an ounce of respect for this ultra-partisan hack? Who could watch her preside over the most baseless impeachment in U.S. history without realizing that her reputation far exceeds her reality? Who could watch her dismiss the claims of Tara Reade – and thus the foundation of the entire #MeToo movement – without recognizing that she is an opportunistic hypocrite whose only concern is power and influence?
The salon incident wasn’t a revelation of Pelosi’s true nature; it was merely confirmation.
