Trump’s Tweets Forced This Actress into “the Fetal Position”
Former child actress Alyssa Milano went into what can only be described as a nervous breakdown on Twitter this weekend, claiming to her social media followers that reading President Trump’s tweets had sent her into an emotional downward spiral. The “Who’s the Boss?” star, who is now supposedly a grownup with children of her own, said, “Just made the mistake of reading all of @realDonaldTrump’s tweets from the last few days. I’m now curled up in the fetal position with a Cinderella tiara on my head. Also, my feet are cold. So very cold.”
Now we can be charitable and assume there is at least some small attempt at humor in between these words and that Milano is not really so insane as to be driven to such behavior merely by a few of the president’s tweets. But then again, one never knows, because this is hardly the first time we’ve seen Milano acting this way on social media. She gives new definition to the term “drama queen,” and she has been one of Trump’s most reliably nutty critics from the land of Hollywood.
But admittedly, we haven’t been following the president’s tweets as closely as we should have been in the days leading up to Milano’s breakdown, so maybe she has a right to be upset. Maybe the president has been tweeting nonstop about Milano herself, threatening to send U.S. Special Forces to her house. Maybe he’s been watching old episodes of “Charmed” and has been tweeting out his criticism of her acting chops. Hmm, let’s take a look.
Let’s see, there are some highly courageous and appropriate tweets about the protest situation in Iran…a remark about how the Post Office should charge Amazon more money for delivering their packages…a comparison of his approval numbers to those of Obama…a tweet we LOVE mocking the Climate Nutters over the cold snap in the Northeast…yeah…there’s nothing here that should trigger anyone – much less a grown woman – to curl up and put a Cinderella tiara on her head.
We’d love to know when these liberal loonies are going to look back in their social media timelines and realize the simple truth: That Trump’s presidency simply hasn’t been nearly as bad as they thought it was going to be. They keep going on like they’re living through the worst period in all of human history, but none of their grandiose, dire predictions have come true. Trump has not turned out to be American Hitler. He has not rounded up Muslims and Hispanics into concentration camps. He hasn’t abolished the First Amendment. He’s no liberal, of course, but ya know, that’s what elections are all about. You don’t get to see your agenda implemented when your side loses. But can we at least stop pretending that Trump is some kind of menace to the foundations of democracy?
Can we take off the fairy tale crown and rejoin reality?
