Tucker Carlson Blasts Media for Cheering on Robert Mueller
On his program Tuesday night, Fox News host Tucker Carlson laid into the mainstream media for their overwhelmingly biased coverage of the Robert Mueller investigation. So bad had the media’s portrayal of Mueller’s case been, he said, that the media now had the temerity to criticize Fox News for handling it with a bit of finesse and balance. As far as your ABCs, NBCs, and Washington Posts are concerned, if you aren’t actively cheering Mueller on in his quest to take down a duly-elected American president, you’re probably a Russian traitor.
He said the media should be ashamed of themselves for jumping right on the bandwagon when it was announced that Green Party candidate Jill Stein was now under investigation for her ties to Russian collusion.
“Here you have a political candidate, a politician going to a dinner sponsored by a news organization. I don’t watch RT, okay? I don’t agree with RT, but it is a news organization, it’s no crazier than some other ones out there, that’s for sure. And she’s being investigated by the Congress over this,” Carlson said. “There’s no media outcry at all. Everyone acts like this is totally normal. Where are reporters in defending the Freedom of the Press they often say they believe in?”
Carlson argued that the media was blind to the fact that this expanding Mueller investigation had gotten “so ludicrous that it swept up Jill Stein.” Furthermore, he said, the media was ignoring the fact that the majority of the American public was now convinced that Robert Mueller was plowing ahead despite conflicts of interest.
“We’ve never attacked Mueller as a man on this show,” Carlson said. “I’m not judging him as a man, but I think all journalists ought to be skeptical of what their government is doing at all levels. But I’m watching journalists on other channels say anybody who asks questions is ‘disloyal,’ ‘inciting silence,’ basically unpatriotic. When did that change? When did journalists become cheerleaders for prosecutions?”
That’s a good question, and the answer is: Since Donald Trump became the titular head of the Republican Party. Since that time, the entire media has sworn off that pesky little thing called objectivity and has decided, more or less, that their job is now to make sure that he is out of the White House by January 2021, if not long before. And in that quest, they’re willing to lie, cheat and steal, if it means helping the Democrats rid the country of the man they feel is so dangerous to “American values.”
What they don’t realize (or maybe they do), is that they’re doing far more harm to our democracy with their biased journalism than Trump could do in six consecutive White House terms.
