Tucker Carlson’s Jan. 6 Footage Sparks Outrage!
(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) told reporters that he did not regret having given Fox News’ Tucker Carlson access to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack footage, following the bipartisan blowback that he has received recently.
McCarthy on Tuesday told reporters that giving Carlson access was always about transparency so that people would have the opportunity to actually look at what occurred on that day. This response to whether he regretted the decision came one day after Carlson decided to air never before seen angles of footage from the attack during his show. In the show he rejected the claims that this was a “deadly insurrection” and instead he resorted to calling the insurrection “mostly peaceful chaos.”
The Capitol attack has been linked to several deaths and it resulted in 100 law enforcement officers being injured during the insurrection.
On Tuesday, McCarthy was asked by reporters whether he agreed with Carlson’s assessment that the insurrection was “mostly peaceful chaos.” In response, he said that he did not know what Carlson had said. When asked again about whether or not he thought the attack on Jan. 6, 2021, was an insurrection, McCarthy once again turned back to his claims about transparency stating that what he was going was focusing on transparency. He continued to say that the best thing to do is to allow everyone to see the incident so that it does not happen again.
Later on Tuesday evening, McCarthy also reiterated that he condemned the Jan. 6, Capitol insurrection.
Carlson’s Monday night broadcast was only the first of a two-part installment. However, it resulted in many lawmakers from both sides, as well as top law enforcement officials condemning the narrative that Carlson built during his show.
