Tucker: China Poses an “Imminent Threat” to U.S. Life and Security
In an uncensored, unbridled monologue on Tuesday, Fox News host Tucker Carlson said that the coronavirus pandemic has made it clearer than ever before: Communist China poses an “imminent threat” to American life and security going forward and should be dealt with accordingly.
“Pandemics are inevitable,” Carlson acknowledged. “We should accept that. But our responses to them are not inevitable. Nobody forced us to outsource the production of essential medical supplies to China. Our leaders did that and they did it on purpose. They don’t want to talk about it now at all. But they did it and it was a crime.”
Carlson said that while it was understandable to see U.S. government and business leaders talking about the day we can all get back to normal, there are some aspects of American life that should never return to the way things were before the outbreak.
“We need to move essential manufacturing back to the United States. It’s crazy not to,” Carlson said. “More broadly, we need to start treating China like the dangerous Cold War-level adversary it has clearly become.”
Carlson said that China’s grip on the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and life-saving medical equipment was not the only factor at play; he said it was also essential for the U.S. to look at how this virus originated and what China did – or did not do – to stop it from spreading outside its borders.
“China’s Third World health practices played a central role in this disaster. The virus grew to a pandemic because Chinese officials silenced health authorities in that country who tried to warn the public about it,” Carlson said. “Even now, the Chinese government is determined to crush any unsanctioned reporting from the country.
“Amazingly, our ruling class is taking China’s side. And that, again, is the good news about a crisis that clarifies things,” Carlson continued. “You can see exactly what side people are on. Now, some of our leaders do this on purpose because they’re getting rich from China. Maybe the media are just too dumb to know the difference.”
China is going to have serious questions to answer at the conclusion of this crisis, and we don’t have any confidence at all that the answers will be truthful. They have lied, obfuscated, and done everything in their power to make this outbreak worse – intentionally or inadvertently. Now, instead of taking responsibility for their failing, they are launching inane conspiracy theories and accusing the United States of weaponizing COVID-19 against them.
Trump was right all along – this is not a country to be trusted in trade or anything else. When this is over, we need to move on from the trade war and move towards cutting China out of the global economy altogether.
