Woman Sues School for Mandating White Privilege Class for Her Son
In the absence of almost any critical thought about what these trainings are doing to workers and students, various organizations across the country have adopted curricula that promotes the woke fantasy that every white person is a racist and benefits enormously from structures designed to further the power of the white race. These trainings are exercises in guilt therapy at their most benign; they are caustic attempts to make skin color the most important thing about a person at their worst. And some people have finally had enough.
Among them is Gabrielle Clark of Nevada, who demanded that her son, William, be exempted from one of these classes. When the charter school he attends decided to ignore the mother’s wishes and subject him to the class anyway, she threatened to file suit. This week, she proved that her threat was not an idle one.
In a federal lawsuit against Democracy Prep, Clark claimed Thursday that her son was forced “to make professions about his racial, sexual, gender and religious identities in verbal class exercises and in graded, written homework assignments.”
According to Clark, her son William (who is biracial, by the way) had his statements subjected “to the scrutiny, interrogation and derogatory labeling of students, teachers and school administrators.” And despite her objections, his son was forced to “accept and affirm politicized and discriminatory principles and statements that he cannot in conscience affirm.”
The lawsuit accuses the school of threatening Clark’s son “with material harm, including a failing grade and non-graduation if he failed to comply.”
Perhaps the fact that this suit is being filed by a black woman will alert some liberals to the dangers of this…this propaganda…that’s being pushed in schools, workplaces, and the government. Maybe it will make some of them realize that coerced agreement isn’t really agreement at all; it’s just suppression of free speech and free thought. And maybe, if the courts see it Clark’s way, this lawsuit will put other schools on notice: Your “antiracist” agenda isn’t more important than a parent’s wishes. Indeed, it’s not more important than anything, including a good afternoon nap.
Alas, we’re jaded and pessimistic. This seems like runaway bus with no obvious brakes. People are so terrified of being slapped with that dreaded label – “RACIST” – that they will go along to get along, even when they know that the meal they’re being fed is lousy with poison. Who knows. Maybe there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
Or maybe that’s just an oncoming train.
