6th Grader Bullied and Suspended for Wearing MAGA Hat

A 12-year-old student from Missouri was verbally and physically bullied on the school bus for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, and his mother wants to know why HE was suspended in the aftermath of the attack.

6th-grade student Gavin Cortina angered his fellow students with his political beliefs, and cell phone video shows them ganging up on him about his support of President Donald Trump.

“You want to build a wall?” one student yells on the video. “You want to build a f—king wall?”

In an interview with a Missouri TV station, the boy said he had no choice but to defend himself.

“At one point, he just got so frustrated he pushed me,” said Cortina. “And then he kept hitting me and backing me up by the window of the bus, and so I just had to push him out.”

His mother, Christina Cortina, said she was appalled by what she witnessed on the video.

“I saw him being berated and bullied and beat, literally beat, because he feels strongly about the world today,” she told KMOV.

A Parkway School District representative said that all of the students who were involved in the incident have faced “consequences” for their actions. But Cortina’s mother doesn’t think the punishments – which included a suspension for her son – were in line with the situation.

“As a parent it’s so unsettling,” she said. “I feel like my son was made an example of, it was a tricky situation—it was politically charged.”

To see how insane this is, all you have to do is imagine how the left would have reacted if the political beliefs were reversed and Trump supporters had attacked a kid wearing one of those ridiculous pussyhats from the Women’s March. It would have been on the front page of the New York Times.

But this incident, like so many others, will be quietly swept under the rug. When liberals act out, the media pretends that they aren’t “true” representatives of the resistance. But when Trump supporters so much as put a sign in their yard, they are antagonistic, violent racists who have no place in civilized society.

We’re sure Gavin Cortina learned a valuable lesson from this incident…but it’s probably not the one his attackers wanted to teach him.
