Biden WARNS China After Balloon Incident
(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – During the State of the Union address, President Joe Biden promised to help protect the U.S. from any threats including those coming from China. This statement came only a few days after the suspected Chinese surveillance balloon was shot down. During the address, Biden briefly mentioned the incident to say that if China was to try and threaten U.S. sovereignty then the U.S. would respond and protect the nation.
He added that this is exactly what they did last week when dealing with the balloon. The balloon traveled across the U.S. and Canada last week before the U.S. military shot it down off the coast of South Carolina on Saturday. This was only days before the State of the Union address.
China has long maintained that the balloon was used for weather studies and that it had accidentally drifted off course which led to it flying over the U.S. Eyewitness videos were captured from the moment that the balloon was shot down.
Following the destruction of the balloon China has responded harshly. Secretary of State Antony Blinken also had to postpone his trip to Beijing because of the balloon incident.
The incident with the balloon has also led to a lot of different opinions in Congress. While everyone appears pleased that the balloon has been brought down, in a way confronting China, there are many who are requesting more information on the balloon and the administration’s choices in handling the apparatus.
