Eric Trump: Leftist Censorship Will Backfire on Election Day
President Trump’s son Eric appeared on Fox News Saturday night to warn viewers that the push towards mail-in voting was an obvious and dangerous attempt on the part of Democrats to steal the 2020 election. Trump said that Democrats were using the excuse of the coronavirus to put America on the path to a mail-in election – one that would give the left all the power they need to fudge the results using a variety of shady tools.
“Voter fraud is real and it is absolutely happening every single day,” Eric Trump warned. “And the Democrats don’t care. And the media wants to ignore it.”
The executive vice president of the Trump organization said Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for trying to convince voters that our elections are free of fraud – particularly as it relates to mail-in ballots.
That’s when the conversation turned to social media. When President Trump tried to use Twitter to explain the dangers of widespread mail-in voting last month, the site took the unprecedented step of hiding the tweet behind a “fact check” that ignored many of the proven fraudulent activity that has surrounded this type of voting. Eric Trump said that such censorship was likely to backfire on Silicon Valley.
“You and I and every other conservative out there we’ve known what has been happening the whole time,” Trump said. “I mean, every single kind of outspoken conservative has been shadow-banned behind the, behind the scenes. There’s just no question.
“It’s going to cost them the election because the one thing that Republicans, the one thing that Americans don’t want to have happen to them is to have their free speech silenced, right?” Trump continued. “We have the First Amendment protection for a reason. Americans fundamentally — it’s ingrained in their DNA, believe in having free speech.
“And I’m telling you, it’s gonna backfire on them,” he said. “Do not take that ability away from Americans. And there is no better way, there is no more surefire way to get Americans out to the polls to vote for Donald Trump to stifle their free speech.”
We believe in Eric’s premise, but we wonder if there are enough Americans who really understand what’s going on. If they really grasp the extent to which – by pressure campaigns, cancel culture, and outright censorship – the left is slowly but surely making certain viewpoints unacceptable. We hope so. And we hope they make their voices rise like a thunderclap this November.
