Leftists Up in Arms Over Straight Pride March in California
A group calling themselves the National Straight Pride Coalition is asking the city of Modesto, California for a permit that would allow them to put on a straight pride march in late August, but news that the city is considering the application has leftists in the community spitting rainbows.
The march, which follows news of a similar march planned for Boston, is clearly intended as a jab at the overwhelmingly annoying gay pride atmosphere we all had to patiently endure last month, but the LGBT community is not known for having a sense of humor about itself.
From CBS 13:
A flyer circulating on social media posted by the National Straight Pride Coalition says Stanislaus County will host the event August 24th in Modesto’s Graceada Park. The city is reviewing the application and said phones are ringing off the hook.
“We’ve been getting letters, emails, comments, and phone calls all day about it,” said Kristi Ah You, council member for District 3.
Ah You said if it was up to her, this permit wouldn’t be considered because the message behind the event constitutes hate speech and sets us back 25 years.
“I don’t think we need to give a permit for anything that when you go to the page it talks about whiteness, it talks about western civilization, it talks about being Caucasian. That’s all hate crime stuff to me, that’s not okay,” said Ah You.
The group’s flyer says: “Join us to celebrate heterosexuality, masculinity, femininity, babies – born and unborn – western civilization, our wonderful country, Christianity — Celebrate Life!”
This is now what qualifies as “hate speech” to the left. Anything that promotes the values that they despise is considered evil and wrong. And the mainstream media is ready and willing to go right along with that narrative. Why wouldn’t they be? They were largely responsible for demonizing these values in the first place.
Asked by CBS 13 to define the reasons behind holding the march, organizer Don Grundmann said, “Essentially it boils down to two religious views of the world. One is Christianity, which is represented by heterosexuality, a culture of life, and its opponent is the LGBT movement, which is represented by an opposing religion and an opposing view of life.”
It may sound a bit silly and ridiculous to hold a march celebrating your sexual orientation…
Well, we’ll just leave it at that.
