Liberals Want to Prosecute Speech Against Religion

In a new poll of Brits – who seem to be showing us where America is headed in the very near future – a stunning 58% of self-described liberals want to see people prosecuted for criticizing religion. The Populus poll found that, overall, 46% of the British citizenry believes there are certain things that it should be illegal to say when it comes to religion.

“Support for limiting free speech to respect multicultural sensitivities had grown over the past five years,” said the poll’s report.

The support for stronger hate speech laws isn’t just correlated to political beliefs. In a disturbing reflection to similar trends on this side of the Atlantic, those under the age of 25 are increasingly excited about putting feelings above free speech. A recent poll of Americans showed that, by a slim majority, millennials believe there should be more restrictions on the First Amendment.

It is, of course, impossible to look at these results without judging them by their cultural context. Over the last five years, liberals in both Europe and America have been fighting to put Islam above even the most measured forms of criticism. This PC push has even left dedicated leftists like Bill Maher decrying their fellow progressives, warning them that Islam is a regressive religion that promotes intolerance towards women, homosexuals, Jews, and others. For his efforts, Maher has been slammed as a bigot by his liberal critics.

But where there is insanity, there is a backlash. And we’re beginning to see that backlash in the Western world. In America, look no further than the rise of Donald Trump. Ten years ago, his campaign would have sputtered out within the first two weeks. Today, after a sharp pull to the left that has changed our politics and our media, Trump’s wild rhetoric is actually refreshing. And whether his hardcore supporters really love every one of his proposed policies or not, they absolutely love that he has the guts to come out and propose them.

In Germany, Angela Merkel’s fascist attempt to shut down any opposition to Syrian migrants has accomplished the inevitable. Right-wing groups, long pushed to the margins of society for obvious historical reasons, have begun to catch fire. And with the German government doing everything they can to censor anti-immigrant opinions, those groups are only going to swell in popularity.

Mainstream, moderate conservatives are disturbed about the political uprisings in both countries, but this was a long time coming. Over here, Americans hate nothing more than being told what they can and cannot say. Especially when the object of protection is a religion that has birthed some of the most dangerous terrorist organizations in history. The left has finally pushed too hard, too fast. They got greedy.

But this cultural war is far from over, and it seems that liberals have captured the imagination of the youth. It’s up to us to show them how to cast aside years of brainwashing. And we have to do it fast…before we’re no longer allowed to.
