“Racist, Radical Communist”: Candace Owens Rips Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

In a brutal exchange on Twitter this weekend, conservative activist Candace Owens and former White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders tore into Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for encouraging workers to boycott their jobs when the economy reopens.

The argument started over comments AOC made in an interview with Vice last week. The socialist congresswoman – the only Democrat to vote against additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program – said that workers should simply stay home when businesses start to re-open.

“When we talk about this idea of reopening society, you know, only in America does the president — when the president tweets about liberation — does he mean go back to work. When we have this discussion about going back or reopening, I think a lot of people should just say ‘no’ — we’re not going back to that,” she said. “We’re not going back to working 70-hour weeks just so that we could put food on the table and not even feel any sort of semblance of security in our lives.”

This drew ire from Sanders, who said that millions of Americans were proud to work hard for their families.

“AOC says Americans should boycott work. As usual she’s wrong. The goal should be for Americans to SAFELY return to work because unlike AOC and members of Congress, most of us actually have to show up at work to get paid and support our families! #ProtectLivesProtectLivelihoods,” tweeted Sanders.

To this, AOC wrote: “Trump has NO PLAN to get people safely back to work. GOP Govs like Kemp are sending vulnerable workers to die w/ false claims of safety. Trump also pushed an unproven, dangerous treatment as a ‘cure’ & firing experts who want to vet claims. Last thing you care abt is safety.”

That’s when Owens jumped into the mix with a stunning takedown of the Bronx blowhard.

“You routinely complain that poverty is the reason that more minorities will die from Covid-19,” Owens responded. “But you advocate for a BOYCOTT of employment, thereby impoverishing millions MORE minorities. You’re an intellectual coward that only responds to white people that criticize you. You’re a racist, radical communist that wants to expand government control and dependency— and you are using the plight of minorities to fulfill your sick and twisted goals.”

Whoa.

AOC is an easy target even on her best days, but the coronavirus pandemic has really exposed how stupid she actually is. We’re beginning to suspect that her entire purpose is to make the rest of the Democratic Party look sane by comparison. If so, well done.
