Trump Drops Some Truth on NFL Anthem Protesters

President Donald Trump jumped headfirst into one of the biggest culture clashes in America over the weekend as he slammed NFL and NBA players for using social justice activism as an excuse to disrespect patriotic institutions like the national anthem.
In front of cheering supporters in Alabama, Trump said that the NFL’s owners should take decisive action against players who chose to kneel during the anthem. And in his continued remarks on social media, he slammed NBA star Steph Curry for waffling on whether or not to accept an invitation to the White House.
“Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team,” Trump wrote on Twitter Saturday. “Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!”
The previous night in Huntsville, Trump used a rally for Sen. Luther Strange to blast NFL stars who kneeled during the singing of the national anthem.
“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now – out, he’s fired,'” Trump asked the cheering audience.
Trump encouraged NFL fans to stage their own protest when players took a knee. “The only thing you could do better is if you see it – even if it’s one player – leave the stadium,” he advised.
Despite rebukes from NFL players and owners and a rousing round of condemnation from the mainstream media, Trump continued hammering the theme of patriotic disrespect on social media. On Saturday, he said that the millionaires playing football should have a better understanding of just how good they’ve got it.
“If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL, or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem,” he wrote on Saturday morning. “If not, YOU’RE FIRED. Find something else to do!”
Who can really disagree with this sentiment? Well, yes, the entirety of the unpatriotic left will disagree, but what REAL American can? Sure, sure, the players have the First Amendment right to sit, kneel, thumb their nose at the flag, what have you, but fans have a First Amendment right as well. And the NFL isn’t the federal government. These players are representing their owners and their leagues. And the officials have the right – if not the duty – to see that their players are not fostering anti-American sentiment on THEIR dime.
We have the unfortunate feeling that Trump’s comments will only strengthen these anthem protests – now players will feel like they’re part of “The Resistance” as well as whatever feeble-minded anti-cop movement they were espousing before. But they would do well to listen instead of reacting. NFL fans have had just about enough of this nonsense, and it’s starting to show in the ratings and the live attendance. Without the fans, these players are nothing. They should probably remember that.
Perhaps the Negr0 Fel0n League protesters would stand for a muslim or african anthem from a 3rd world country where slavery still exists!
How about when they played in London and stood for” God save The Queen” Not a damn player knows the history about how they treated blacks, they know no history!! Maybe they need a tutor!

The specific guideline pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the unpublished league operations manual (not rulebook as previously cited). It states:
“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

I am a lifetime member of the VFW & if the NFL thinks they are getting great ratings on this topic—-well, they need to think again. Once their $$$$ is gone, what WILL they do:):):)????????? Huh?

We, too, are boycotting the sponsors. It would also be nice to know the stadiums were empty, but that’s not likely to happen.

The worst disgrace of all tho, happened this weekend in the UK. An American team knelt for the National Anthem, and stood for God Save the Queen! How can anybody be that ignorant? My husband is a Vietnam Vet as well, and this really makes him angry too. We also are members of the VFW, American Legion and the local VVA. We are big Green Bay Packer fans. He was born and raised In Milwaukee so has been a fan since Lombardi! He rarely misses a game and still talks to friends every Sunday back in Milwaukee – about football and the Packers. It was very difficult for him because he has always LOVED football, but he is watching no more games. We too are boycotting football. I read today where one of the players for Denver lost his endorsement contract with a Ford Dealership there. It was up for renewal and after his display, they declined to renew it. The founder of the dealership was a Veteran and the current owners felt respecting him was more important! That’s what’s going to continue to happen.
This is about respect for our country, our military, our first responders and all those who fought to make this country and many places in the world free.
I would like to see any one of overpaid, over rated losers, including the owners of the teams, explain their despicable actions to all the mothers whose son”s coffins have been draped with this flag. We are fortunate enough to be living and to show respect for our flag and National Anthem. Those mothers were only able to pay tribute to their sons with the flag and the playing of Taps.

How do you not know the history of England and their hundreds of years of colonial rule, the stratified informal class system, the rampant slavery in countries like South Africa and India? The basic oppression and enslavement, and in some cases, down right slaughter of the indigenous people of those countries by the Brits for their own monetary benefit, while reducing the people of India, as one example, to abject poverty? They demeaningly referred to the Indian people as “colored” and “sammies” and treated them like like dirt on their shoes! The struggle of the Indian people against the British is the equivalent of our Civil Rights movement. One example: Indians were not permitted to purchase or ride in first class coaches on the British railway system. Sound familiar? Do you know who Rosa Parks is? Did your world history lessons not include South Africa’s struggle against colonial rule, nor the bloody fight for independence and resulting civil war in India (which by the way resulted in the establishment of the separate country of Pakistan by the Indian Muslims? Where were you educated? Was this not in your history books? How do you not know the real story of Ghandi, Nehru and the rest of the leaders of that era and their fight for an independent, united India and the price they ultimately paid for that freedom?
For an American sports team to kneel for our National Anthem, and then stand for God Save the Queen, is a slap in the face of not only our military and law enforcement, but giving honor to the country we broke away from so that people like you and these ignorant millionaire sports figures could enjoy the independence and freedoms you enjoy today. I absolutely agree with you. Basically, these people tend to get an ‘over-inflated’ idea of their ‘importance’! Granted all that ‘admiration’, adoration, etc. etc. that they are exposed to, from a very young age–tends to go to their ‘heads’!! They start to actually ‘believe’ it all!! You’re right!! For those who love the ‘game’–there are options!! We have games on the college and High School level that would love some ‘fans’!! I like High School basketball, myself!! These kids aren’t so ‘polished’ and the games are more enjoyable to watch for that reason alone!! LOL

I do think, although they will never admit it, in the corporate offices of the NFL and the individuals team corporate offices, they are really concerned about this backlash. Fans have already been contacting the major sponsors of the NFL and from what I have read, those handling calls and complaints say they have been deluged with phone calls expressing disgust for what is happening and the NFL’s handling of the matter. Keep it up folks! Some of their main sponsors are Ford Mtr. Co., Anheiser-Busch, Pepsi, McDonald’s, VISA, Microsoft, Under Armour, to mention a few.
NFL players and Hollywood think that the world can’t live without them,but they are wrong. Stadiums never pay for themselves – it’s a proven fact. The taxpayers get hosed to have the “honor” of being a big city and hosting these “wonderful” jerks in their town. They built a stadium in our city after the city voted NO!!! I’ve said it a million times over the last year – I hope all of the arrogant, overpaid people who actually contribute nothing to society (Hollywood, sports players, etc…) all go under and have to finally live in the “real world”. I had said no more half-time shows after Beyonce’s disgusting anti-American show a couple of years ago, so I’m good. We stopped going to anything but Pure Flix films a couple of years ago and don’t watch any of the trash shows on TV. Don’t miss any of it and I hope they all go under….

Done with NFL this season,especially my hometown Pittsburgh Steelers. They,with approval from Tomlin,stayed inside during anthem like the cowards they are. The entire team, save one prior Ranger, disrespected country and service men and women who died so they could have the freedom,unfortunately, to act like assholes.
I spit on Tomlin’s picture I had on wall of home as part of my Steeler hallway of history in game room and burned all my Steeler t-shirts in protest of what they did. She is a lawyer and must not know the difference between racial issue and the national issue. President Trump is the commander in chief whose first responsibility is to protect the country and the people. It is a very important issue to protect our culture as America and rightfully he is bringing it to the attention to the people. It seems to me that we have enough pros and cons from both sides of this issue. When we have differences we try the diplomatic way. If that does not work we proceed to conflict and eventually to war and we are now at that stage, the beginning of an intra war. So, if that is the case let’s settle this one and for all on the battlefield. There are two teams consisting of heavily supported members, one the U.S. Military, the other the NFL members. The latter gets megabucks, best health and injury treatments, fame, subsidies, carteblanche and primadonna treatment in places where the average American would be shunned. With their ability to take down a three hundred pound opponent at full speed and equipped with the best defense money can buy, they get meals of their wish and whim to keep them at the top of their game. If injured, they only have one thing in their mind, “will I be able to play next week”. The other team has no choice as to where they can go or who they will be against with the only thing in mind, “for God and country. Hunkered down in perilous territory their only hope is that ammo or support will arrive. Forget the great meals and only consume their supplement between skirmishes of fire power. There is no five star restaurant with a table reserved for them, home and loved ones are set aside, buddies around them with limbs missing crying for help or just thinking of Mom and others who will never have a chance for tomorrow much less next week. Their monetary reward is not based on their performance but hangs on the decision of “Fat Cats” within the government and to treat their wounds they have to stand in line, not to be treated but to be approved. I hope by now you can see where I’m going. Let’s take a platoon of these “bad asses” in the NFL and put them in that position. Let them see and witness what we The American Public is so upset about. Upon their return let’s greet them with same welcome the Korean, Viet Nam and Gulf War received. Let’s let them stand by a buddy’s coffin as it is put into the ground and feel the chill of the sound of “Taps’ while a widow’s or mother’s tear runs down their cheeks. I have mixed feelings here. While I do believe in freedom of speech (unlike
many self-proclaimed “progressives” who prefer to commit violence and damage
rather than allowing others to speak), I also recognize the right of PRIVATE
BUSINESSES to have rules for their employees. You work for a chocolate
company? Your employer might have a rule saying that if you go about
proclaiming another chocolate better, you are fired. That is absolutely
legitimate. No one has to hire/pay someone who badmouths the very thing that
provides his and their own livelihood. These teams are privately owned – and
these players get HUGE money for doing what I consider ignorant though
legitimate work. If the Team Owners have a clause in their massive contracts
saying that they must show respect for the country, at least while at work,
then they MUST – or they should be fired. If no such clause exists, then they
can do it and face whatever does happen.
Further, from the type of demonstrating performed, no one knows exactly what
these wealthy, wealthy ingrates were protesting. From appearances, it was “the
Flag” that represents the country. Were they protesting the whole country? If
so, they should not be here. Their protest teaches nothing but the appearance
that they hate a country where they live very, very privileged lives. That is
annoying to those who worry about paying bills each month. Further, they must
understand that when someone “speaks freely”, others with differing opinions
will speak freely back. Patriots and poorly paid military families who love
sports are now refusing to watch these teams or buy the popular junk they sell
or pay for their autographs. What will happen if that resistance grows and
they can no longer be paid their exorbitant salaries? What if taxpayers object to
spending the many millions they now spend building and maintaining those
stadiums? Will the players regret putting on a display of “f— you America”
when they have to buy a cheaper car?
If they really want to help- they will buy the cheaper car anyway, and help

Actually, Kathy, there IS a paragraph in their contracts that states they are to ‘stand at attention, on the field, while the National Anthem is being played.’ So, technically speaking, they are breaking their contractual agreement! Since they are ‘all’ doing it together–they escape the consequences of being ‘fired’ for it. However, they have engaged ‘other’ consequences–like the anger and outrage of their ‘fans’!!

And these spoiled sports players who make way too much money think they have cause to disrespect people who really have an important job. All the PC talking heads condemn president Trump’s, can we say, less than presidential, call for removing ANY demonstrators kneeling during OUR Anthem. That is one of the reasons he is now the POTUS, however, he speaks “truth to power” in UNAMBIGUOUS terms and manner! One more time, boys and girls, I “pay” my hard earned shekels to bring ENTERTAINMENT into my living room. I DO NOT pay for some sanctimonious dweeb to INVADE my respite from the daily morass of mindlessness! DITTO for pouring MEGA BUCKS into attending some “sports” venue!! The gutless owners are the true idiots. They “hire” these entertainers to entertain, NOT to have a “negative impact” on their bottom line! What part of “Get that/those SOB’s off of the field and FIRE them” do they NOT understand as ‘necessary’ in ANY business they undermine?

The football commissioner had the the best opportunity to avoid this confrontation by following rules thus heralding the NFL to it’s highest pinnacle. With that said let’s look at the opportunities missed and facts of potential.
1. Blacks are involved in more crimes, even against their own and have a higher rate if incarceration.
2. Blacks have the lowest amount of education and good paying jobs which leads to lower wages or no
employment thus lowering future success.
3. As a whole, their neighborhood and residences are lowly kept thus showing a lack of pride and creating a
haven for potential and present offenders.
4. Per recent studies, they receive the most of Government Assistance, funds offered to better lives but invested
in the wrong way.
4. Off springs are rarely provided with the basic needs and social attitudes to become law abiding citizens with
no respect for themselves, their parents, family and society as a whole.
5. When it comes to freedom of speech, they have the upper and protected hand. The usage of derogatory
remarks and name calling subordinating other races but freely used within themselves is prevalent with no
remorse, in movies, music and documentaries and of no insult to theirs but highly incinerating for other races
and punishment should it be used. So, where is the freedom of speech?
It is not my intent to be racial in any way. These facts are readily available to the public should you wish to look them up. Now for my suggestion.
It is a known fact that blacks dominate sports as per ratio compared to whites. They are the highest paid athletes with better lives and the best of amenities. So, when Black Lives Matter asked that whites give to less fortunate blacks, homes, monies, automobiles and other things they have worked for to invest in their future and families, why didn’t these highly over compensated players offer their assistance. The whites have struggled just as hard to save in order to attend the games along with their families, played in arenas paid by the taxpayers. Bought tickets equivalent to a week’s wages, consumed overpriced drinks and food and some of NFL’s souvenirs.Their constructive contributions would have reflected their true heroism to the people in need and accented their belief in a country that has made it possible for them as true Americans. Should they wish to kneel, let it be for forgiveness of their shame.
