Democrats Don’t Need Guns. Fear is Their Weapon of Choice.

If you tuned into the coverage of the March for Our Lives and saw young people holding signs about abortion, equal pay, the Russia investigation, or some other equally-off-topic political issue, you may have been a bit puzzled. Wasn’t this supposed to be about gun control and school shootings? Why are people stomping around with anti-Trump signs and Black Lives Matter posters?

But maybe you weren’t all that surprised. Maybe you tuned in to the coverage of the Women’s March last year and noticed the same thing. Perhaps then it dawned on you that these marches are little more than Democrat Party rallies in (thin) disguise. All covered lovingly by the mainstream media. Say, you remember when the media had reporters all over the country trying desperately to uncover the supposed corporate backers supporting the grassroots Tea Party movement? You’ll notice they don’t bother with any such due diligence reporting when it comes to these leftist marches. No, no, we’re to believe that a handful of high school students organized a rally for 200,000 people in D.C. All by their little ol’ selves. Ain’t democracy something? From the mouths of babes…

Just shut up.

The March for Our Lives, like all the previous left-wing marches, was just another piece of propaganda meant to recruit young people into the cult of liberalism. This time it’s guns they’re using as a tool of recruitment. Last time it was Trump. Next time, who knows? Maybe it’ll be illegal immigration or Confederate statues or the rights of disabled lesbians. You never know. But whatever it is, the true purpose (and the true funding) will be the same. And whatever it is, the media will cover it like it’s some awesome grassroots phenomenon that has little or nothing to do with Washington, D.C.

Please.

But this is the way of the left – the only path they can choose, really. Because the alternative would be to actually debate issues on the merits of the facts and use those debates to recruit people into their ranks. This isn’t possible because there is no defense when it comes to most of the left’s positions. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the gun issue, where they really have no leg on which to stand. So instead of confronting the blatantly obvious fact that none of their gun control solutions will do ANYTHING to stop these killings, they just wait until there is a tragedy and then they play every emotional note they can play to bypass the brain circuitry and go straight for the heart.

For as easy as it is to mock, though, it cannot be so easily dismissed. They wouldn’t keep doing it unless it was effective. Are we worried that we’re on the precipice of the disarmament of America? No, not really. Are we concerned that the Second Amendment rights we enjoy today will be severely curtailed in the not-so-distant future? Yeah, yeah we are.

Facts, unfortunately, are no match for fear.
