Missouri Democrat Caught Hiding Her Extremist Agenda From the Voters
Project Veritas is back, and they’re doing outstanding work on behalf of American voters this election season. Only a week after James O’Keefe and his undercover investigators exposed Tennessee Senate candidate Phil Bredesen for lying to voters about his willingness to support the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Project Veritas released a new video proving that Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) is hiding the truth about her radical agenda from Missourians in the run-up to the midterms.
“This undercover report shows just how broken our political system has become,” O’Keefe said in a statement. “Senator McCaskill hides her true views from voters because she knows they won’t like them.”
That certainly seems to be the case, with McCaskill and her staffers admitting to undercover journalists that they are intentionally downplaying the senator’s hard-left tendencies in order to attract moderate Democrats and Independents to the polls. In one exchange, McCaskill told one of PJ’s journalists that she was determined to vote for the strongest gun control measures the Democratic Party could ram through the Senate.
“If we elect enough Democrats we’ll get some gun safety stuff done,” she said on hidden camera. “They won’t let us vote on it. We’ve got 60 votes for a number of measures that would help with gun safety, but McConnell won’t let them come to the floor.”
“Like bump stock, ARs, and high capacity mags?” asked the reporter.
“Universal background checks, all of that,” McCaskill confirmed. “But if we have the kind of year I think we might have I think we could actually be in a position to get votes on this stuff on the floor and we’d get 60.”
“So you would be on board with the bump stocks and high capacity mags?”
“Of course,” said McCaskill. “Of course!”
McCaskill’s record speaks for itself when it comes to gun control, but she’s been careful to downplay her extremist views on the subject when out on the trail. This is no accident, campaign staffer Rob Mills told the PJ journalists. It was “because she has a bunch of Republican voters” who would be turned off by a hardline gun control stance.
“She doesn’t openly go out and support groups like ‘Moms Demand Action’ or other groups that are related to that,” Mills said. “Because that could hurt her ability to get elected. Because people see that and they’re like, well I don’t want to support her even though they stand for the same policies.”
It says something about the liberal agenda that Democratic Party incumbents cannot even run on the party’s stated platform – cannot even admit their own beliefs in public! – for fear of a voter revolt. Let’s hope that McCaskill’s moderate supporters are paying close attention to what their senator really thinks.
