(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Only hours after the most recent mass shooting at Allen Premium Outlets, a shopping mall in Texas that killed eight people, the National Rifle Association (NRA) took to Twitter to make a statement that received a lot of backlash.

An Allen Police Department officer who was in the area for an unrelated call stated that he heard gunshots at 3:36 p.m. According to a statement by the police department, the officer was able to neutralize the threat and then proceeded to call emergency personnel to the area. Allen Fire Chief Jonathan Boyd stated that seven people, including the suspect, had died at the scene, while two of the nine people rushed to the hospital died there. Three of those were in critical condition, while four were stable. The victims ranged in age from 5 to 61.

Only a few hours after the shooting, the NRA tweeted and retweeted that “no organization in the world does more to promote safe and responsible use of firearms than the NRA!”

The tweet received a lot of criticism, with Joel Kaskinen pointing out that the only thing the NRA did was train people to kill others. He added that this was an inappropriate message on the day of a mass shooting.

William Youngblood also wrote in response that the NRA was “no better than the arms dealers supplying the drug cartels” and that there were children being killed in shopping malls, and this is what the NRA had to say.

This year alone, there have been 199 mass shootings across the nation, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
