Blue State Bankrupted By Illegal Immigrants
(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Wednesday Mayor Eric Adams warned that the migration crisis could lead to the city of New York going bankrupt. Since spring more than 35,700 illegal immigrants have been transported to New York. Adams has said that this surge of migrants is costing “real dollar amounts” and that currently there is no room left for them to accommodate the influx of immigrants.
During a news conference in Brooklyn, the mayor said that supporting these immigrants is an “expensive endeavor” and that it will be important for them to “find ways of carrying out this task without bankrupting the city.”
The mayor has not placed any of the blame for the current situation on President Joe Biden directly, instead, he has said that it would be easy to put the blame on whoever is sitting in office at any given time. However, he did say it was up to the federal government to help solve the humanitarian crisis that was unfolding and putting such a strain on New York resources.
Currently, more than 24,000 migrants are living in 68 emergency shelters and processing centers in the city. Adams has said that it is up to “Congress and the executive branch” to help solve the issue.
Adams also noted that he was frequently meeting with Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services Anne Williams-Isom and other New York City officials to try and find solutions to “solve this crisis that was dropped on us.”
The $1.7 billion federal spending plan Biden signed Thursday does allocate $800 million which can be used for migrant related-aid. To gain access to some of those funds New York City would simply need to apply.
