Why Will Smith Snapped And The Oscars Still Suck
For the first time in a while, “a jab” isn’t sponsored by big pharma. It’s brought to you by “Big Willie”. And for the first time in a while people tuned in for the promotion, Willard Carroll Smith II, not the actual TV program. The ratings for the Oscars have been going the way of the Biden.

Their initiative to find every intersection in personal identity after the #OscarsSoWhite movement in 2016 has made their selections and program unpalatable. Like the VP and the SCOTUS nominee, merit has taken a back seat in the selection process. This year, a movie with subtitles for sign language won best picture. I didn’t see it. It probably was good. You wonder if it got extra points for “inclusiveness”. A factor that should fall outside of the realm of motion picture arts and science. What happened to selecting movies solely on cinematography, writing, sound-mixing, etc.? But an open-hand slap by Will Smith gave the dying program a temporary resuscitation.
The problem is that no one is talking about the films. People are talking about the drama between Will and his wife Jada. They’re talking about how comedy is literally taking a hit (Did you know that the Oscars didn’t include Bob Saget Norm or MacDonald in their Memoriam presentation?) They’re talking about the promotion not the program. This is of the self promotion variety — and goes back to where we started, 2016.
Ahhhh I get it now.
2016 Oscars Chris had a lot of jokes for Jada because she was boycotting the Oscar’s on behalf of Will.
Will probably came in tonight waiting for Chris to say something slick… & he did. 😬
Hence the “Keep my wife’s name out your f ***** mouth.”

Will Smith has to punch Chris Rock in the face …. He has no choice

Now slapping Chris Rock wasn’t a response to this true and hilarious joke, but the truth doesn’t sit well with people who live in their own fantasy world. Especially when you’ve got such an inflated ego that you produce an over-dramatized series based on your life . . .
Chris Rock had a point, this is the same guy who turned down roles of a lifetime to do movies like “Wild Wild West” — just to ensure that he was “the man”. But did I mention his fantasy world? For years he and his wife had been rumored to have an open relationship, and the couple confirmed it in 2020.
Other details came out in the form of public flogging from his wife when she detailed her relationship with the famed late rapper Tupac Shakur — whom Jada had grown up with.
As Will kept rising in stardom, he hadn’t been able to measure up to what his wife really wanted. Last night everything seemed to pile on and the actor snapped.
Will smith : I did that for you baby 🥺
