After Banning Monoclonal Antibodies, Biden Suddenly Reverses Course
Biden is showing a change of heart towards life-saving monoclonal antibodies.
In a speech about Congressional funding, President Biden mentions how helpful life-saving monoclonal antibodies are for the American people, and hopes to supply more if funds for it, if granted.
However, earlier this year, Biden and his administration stopped Florida from receiving the treatments which upset Republican Governor DeSantis who has been working hard to keep Florida residents alive and safe since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier this month a study was released showing how the antibodies help with lung inflammation.
In addition, the federal government stopped the treatment in 8 states. According to The Hill “In a statement, the agency said that the treatment is no longer authorized for use in several states in New England and the New York, New Jersey area. Shipments of the drug to those states have also been paused, according to the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS).”
On March 15th President Joe Biden signed into law a $1.5 trillion spending bill that gives $14 billion to Ukraine for aid but did not allocate any funding for COVID-19 relief. This comes after the Russia- Ukraine invasion caught the attention of Congress to cut about $16 billion in pandemic aid which helps fund COVID-19 treatments like monoclonal antibody sites.
Currently, it is not clear if any additional funds will be granted towards a life-saving treatment.
